I recommend SOCOM 1 if you can find it.

I just ran down in the basement to ask my son.....without hesitation he said "NCAA06"...whatever that is.. but he's a cool kid so I'll take his word for it.

Thanks so much for your advice. I've cut the dreck from the list thanks to you.

:-)

And added Multi-Taps to the list of things to get.

What new game is out for PS2 that you think they would flip over?

Do Xboxes need a multiplayer adaptor?

Well no, four people can play right out of the box, but to have more, you need to hook up more XBoxes (which only works for certain games, like Halo).

My 16 year old son only has 2 Playstation2 games on his Christmas list this year and they are NCAA06, and the new Star Wars game Battlefront.

He also plays the Madden 2006 all the time.

I don't see FarCry by UBISoft-CryoTek

This is the best game on the planet for first person shooters.

Nothing comes remotely close.

There's a version of Soul Calibur 2 for all 3 consoles. Pretty good choice I'd say...for some reason it has a lot more replayability than any other fighting game I've ever played.

You are more than welcome! Thanks for your dedication and love for our soldiers!

Do note the "memory cards" as well, some places like Sam's Club have multi-packs on discount...it will be HIGHLY appreciated by the troops!

OK...new PS2 games that kick a$$...

World Poker Tour, and World Series of Poker (2 different games) are BOTH great for the Poker enthusiasts (none there in uniform...NAH!)

Burnout 3 Takedown is out at $19.99...and"older game", but AWESOME.

Burnout 4 Revenge is the next game in the racing series...if they play 3 first, they get bonuses and advances when they save Burnout 4 on the same memory card that has a Burnout 3 file on it....a nice bonus!

Midnight Club 3 DUB edition (racing).

Need For Speed Underground (Older).

Need For Speed Most Wanted (new and pricey!)

MX vs ATV Unleashed.

Gran Turismo 4 is the new one, and is fantastic (Gran Turismo 3 is great and cheap too!)

Someone mentioned Falcon 4...it's great, check out Heroes of the Pacific as well (WWII fighters)

Nascar 06 is real good.

The Midway Arcade Treasures (especially 3 and 4) are all the old arcade games on the PS2...some old games are still a blast!

I do recommend (if you can afford/find it) the Grand Theft Auto Pack that has GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas in it...watch the price, you may do better getting the individual games...but if you must get one, I REALLY recommend San Andreas!

Any of the Clancy games (except Ghost Recon II...wasn't that good) are great...SOCOM and SOCOM II are also a blast for the guys and ladies in uniform!

Again, pricey....but...Star Wars Battlefront II!!!!! The ability to play as Vader vs Yoda for the Star Wars geek is waaaay too appealing, and the game play is a BLAST!

Best I can come up with right now...

"Unless AAFES started selling PS2's over there get them a XBox or Gamecube game instead."

I don't know if AAFES is selling PS2 in Iraq, but they are in their catalog, and in all their other stores, as well as Xbox, and the handhelds, like the Nintendo DS, and Playstation Personal (PSP), and a couple of varieties of Gameboy.

My Nintendo Gamegear is also a veteran of Desert Storm. We wiled away many an hour at 6th RSAF HQ, where our equipment was set up. Had a PS1, also, IIRC. Earthworm Jim was the game, back then, or maybe I'm getting older, and senile... ;)

Thanks so much!!

I ordered about 8 games with the donated money I have (had)at paypal.

Two of the games were cheap because they are missing instructions.

ATV: Quad Power Racing 2
Lord of the Rings-Fellowship of the Ring

Could you get a xerox copy of the instructions or fax a copy to me so I could include them? Don't know how hard that would be for you.

FReepmail me a response.

I've got to go off line now. I'll check back in a few hours.

You've been super!

Yeah, but the Xbox version is the best one, not counting Link's availability on the Gamecube version. Might as well get it on the Xbox, given the choice of the PS2 or Xbox version. True, SC3 is a PS2 exclusive game, but new games aren't quite budget-priced. (With the exception of some like Katamari Damacy and NG Black.)

I don't think SC2 is the best fighting game ever, but it's very nice.
