Paris Aflame: Preview of America's Future?
The New American ^ | November 13, 2005 | R. Cort Kirkwood

Posted on 11/13/2005 1:49:03 PM PST by Mount Athos

Radical Islam has engulfed France. Paris is burning. Australian authorities have collared a terror cell. Months ago, bomb attacks hit London. In 2004, it was Madrid.

All these events have something in common, and it isn’t just a link to what the Bush administration and its talk radio echo chamber calls “Islamofascism.” The common ingredients are unrestricted immigration, an effective end to national borders, and social democratic welfare states that act as a magnet to attract a huge influx of young Muslim men who are not required, or inclined, to assimilate to the culture of their new homelands.

Muslim immigrants now dominate entire sections of major European cities, Paris being the most notable example. Alienated young Muslims, with no attachment to the larger community, are finding refuge in mosques used by militants to radicalize and mobilize street revolutionaries. Now, whole suburbs of Paris have been put to the torch, with threats of further riots in Germany and Belgium.

The European response? They apologize. They promise to do better — meaning more welfare subsidies and deference to the demands of radical Muslim leaders. Because Muslims have demanded changes in the law, Europeans risk jail for criticizing Islam. Just ask noted film actress Brigitte Bardot, who was fined the equivalent of $6,000 by a French court for supposedly inciting “race hatred” by protesting the “Islamization of France” in her recent book A Scream in the Silence.

Acting in concert with the socialist elite building a continental super-state, Islam has changed Europe, particularly France. Indeed, the Old Europe may no longer exist in 10 years. Christianity in France, in particular the Catholic Church, is nearly dead, having been attacked by the culture of death: widespread contraception, abortion, pornography, and free sex. Now, radical Islam threatens Europe with final extinction.

A similar fate may await the United States as efforts proceed to build a Western Hemisphere analogous to the European Union. The same recipe that led to the European intifada is being followed by our own policymaking elite: open borders, plus welfare subsidies, plus official recognition of, and deference to, demands made by self-appointed “leaders” of unassimilated ethnic communities. Thus we may be seeing a preview of America’s future.

Good article, but i don't think that it's concise. Muslims in the U.S. are integrating at a much more rapid pace and you see more secularism in the Muslims who are Americans than those in Europe where they're mostly poor and unedcuated.

Here there's a local Muslim Republican running for office and his platform is as conservative as can get.

I think this piece is warning Americans about unchecked immigration from Mexico and South America, not by Muslims.

Currently, "true" Muslims (not Farrakhan's inbred race baiting idiots) are about 0.5% of the population. That is around one and a half million people.

If one tenth of that figure (150,000) are radical sympathizers/terrorists, we already have a problem.

Let's not belittle the Hispanic immigration problem. Ignorant people are fodder for the socialist machine, regardless of how hard they work.

The borders must be sealed...now!

Islam is not a religion, but a death cult and deserves NO PROTECTION under the first amendment. Many people know "nice" muslims, just as many more know "nice" Klansmen. Either one will cause problems.

Anyone just catch Jonathan Hunt on FNC? He was reporting from Paris, and if I got this right, he stated that the number of incidents of car burning was decreasing and that the lower numbers now are not a big deal to authorities since about 100 cars are burned a night in Paris (or maybe it was France). 100 cars are burned a night anyway. Good grief.

I don't agree. The people coming across our borders generally are European in descent, as are we, and are mostly Christian, as are we. Besides which, if some youts start trying to destroy someone's house, car or place of business, they'll eventually be staring down the barrel of a gun, wielded by the owner, which the youts in Europe did not need to fear.

This is true. I have a Catholic friend who's been swapping protein with a Muslim girl for about 8 months now. She even goes to church with him now.

Hey, Chirac's approval rating is lower than Bush's. 30%, according to a recent poll.

Glenn Beck said it once:

"Listen, all you middle of the road moderate Muslims here in America. You had better start condemning terrorism. Not turning the other way, not ignoring it, and certainly not making excuses for it along the lines of "Sure, terrorism is bad, but..."

You do this at your own peril. Because while most Americans are willing to say that there are good Muslims, if it comes to a large scale smallpox expidemic or a dirty nuke that can be traced to Al Queda, those very same reasonable Americans, the ones who give you the benefit of the doubt right now, are probably going to be willing to vote very quickly for containment camps for all of you. Right now, we are friendly. Nuke a city, and you can bet the claws come out."

Or words to that effect. Reasonable people like me will vote for camps if it comes to that.

I agree. W has not the ba!!s to stop it. Not does he even consider illegal immigrants of any flavor. Pathetic.

And I am a super right-wing ultra-Conservative. I wish Cheney or Rummy were sitting in the big chair. I am extremely disappointed with W's domestic policies. or any other
