When I saw the thread about scremin dean refusing to be on "Meet the Distressed" with RNC Chairman Mehlman, I knew our "buddy" Timmy would be tossing nerf balls today.

I didn't want to take a chance of tossing my breakfast, so opted for Church instead. Just trying to catch up on this thread ...

Read his own statements? You're making assumptions, again. I presume he can read but nobody considers he cannot understand what he's reading nor what it all means. This is the only rational answer I can provide.

Does anyone get the same sort of PR gut level reaction to Dean I do? He strikes me as a complete clone of every rich boy snob twit on any Hollywood movie or sitcom made in the last 30 years. I cannot get the image of Kevin Bacon's character at the start of Animal House. Dean has exactly the same rich boy elitist "I'm better then everyone" presence. I cannot imagine what the Dems were thinking. Guess they have their own cadre of 100%ers who are more concerned with Ideological purity then effective political leadership.

Larry Sabato used to be good at things like this, but he has not had a good track record lately, and does not seem to know the electorate anymore. He smiles a lot, but it belies his poor record of late.

I fear that what we are seeing with Santorum and some others is the "wimpification" of politicians..

They are so afraid of losing that they don't take the "chance" of taking on a Kennedy or Reid on the Senate floor in case it gets turned around on them...like it does with President Bush...

Notice how everyone clamors for Bush to fight back at the accusations by the dems...and not 30 minutes after the speech, the media and dems are accusing him of using the Veteran's Day speech inapproriately!!!

Also, remember when Santorum got up on the Senate floor, outraged by something (Schiavo?)...and compared what the Dems were doing to what Hilter's regime did???

HE GOT GRIEF like crazy....and not just by the dems..the MEDIA just kept it up for days.

Yep. But whenever this is pointed out, the left says "Our presence in Iraq causes all the terrorism.." ......

Just how stupid do liberals think we are?

Yeah. Our presense in Iraq also caused the bombing of the Kobar (sp) towers, the '93 bombing of the WTC, the attack on the USS Cole, etc. The left is so stuck on stupid.

That is an excellent point. Reagan went to Japan to just Hawk a Product for money and he was horribly criticized. Jimmah Carter has made an entire career being a whining, envious, jealous, backstabbing, dictator loving, attention grabbing, piece of human debris embarrassment. There is nothing statesmanlike about either Slickie or Jimmah, and neither one of them have an ounce of pride in their worthless bodies.

Not to be too defensive but part of the reason is the way our side thinks. Republicans are individuals while Democrats are in group-think mode. We tend to stand or fall based on our own merits, while they do better propping themselves up because they realize that when one falls it affects the entire group.

Republicans may blame an individual for something but we rarely blame the other party. Democrats will blame the whole party for the actions of one individual.

And ... why can't Santorum, himself, "explain to the American people the reason for the WOT", rather than waiting for the President to do it?

Is GWB the only Republican on the planet?

I used to be a big Santorum fan, but his backing off the President, rather than a strong offense, IMHO, is a big mistake. The same goes for all the Republicans.
