SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Supervisor Chris Daly is firing back at Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly for comments he made on his radio show Wednesday that encouraged al-Qaida to "blow up" Coit Tower.
O'Reilly reacted to San Franciscans' approval of Proposition I, which discourages military recruiters on public high school and college campuses.
He advised President George W. Bush to react by withdrawing any military protection for the city. "...If al-Qaida comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead," O'Reilly said.
Daly responded on the KRON 4 Morning News, "Coit Tower's a monument to San Francisco's firefighters. They put out the fires in San Francisco after the great quake. American heroes -- they were there on Sept. 11 and now you want al-Qaida to blow up Coit Tower? Give us a break. You are out of line." ...."

Good for the President! Why would he want to subject himself to insults and abuse from the scum that now infects SF?
And, it's been 15 years since San Franciso has had any bush (probably a lot longer than that!)...
President hasn't participated in 75-year tradition of visiting city -- and he has no plans to do so

While Bill O'Reilly is over the top I do know that the comments were taken out of context. He was on Armstrong & Getty this morning and explained what he said and in what context. As usual, the SF Comical grabbed a bit of an entire show and turned it into a sound bite.
His comments were along the lines of "if" not "should" for starters. Then he said that he had been trying to get the Mayor of SF, Gavin Newsome, to come onto The Factor for years and he won't do it. O'Reilly asked A&G if they had ever had Newsome on their show and they laughed and said that Newsome doesn't like them either. Go figure, he won't go on any show where they won't softball him.
At this point in time, I have to agree with Mr. O'Reilly. You don't want to support the US Military - don't expect them to step up to the plate when you are in trouble.

Your basic liberal double standard. Liberals are so fond of the hyperbole. When called on one of their outrageous remarks, they claim it was a joke, or satire or just illustrating a point. Yet when a Conservative uses hyperbole they are full of mock outrage.
Actually one could conclude their source for the quote was Media Matters. Media Matters has a habit of taking out of context anything said from those people whom Media Matters loathes.
Nothing different from those pacifist old European countries (Spain, France, Belgium, Holland),to stay aside while the U.S. keeps fighting this world war on terror.
It's just a matter of time before explosions go off to sway infidels to cave in.

Sorry, San Francisco, but Mr. O'Reilly is totally right (pun intended!) about this. Small wonder why I haven't visited San Francisco in quite a while and don't intend to anytime soon, so there. 
I must have seen a different interview. I saw Mapes exposed for the left wing liberal that she is and O'Reilly did it in a quite subtle way.
Isn't that discriminating againts the military? Arn't there federal laws againts that? Where in the hell is Bush?
I don't think his comments were over the top.
As far as San Fransicko is concerned, I think Pat Robertson should smite the place.
