>>>But would not Casey vote FOR all of these as well?<<<

I did not vote for Casey. I voted for Santorum on the belief that he was conservative.

I'm here in Ohio and I can tell you DeWine has no chance of losing, period. None.

mostly his own stupid statements (such as during hurricane season trying to restrict public access to Nat'l Weather Service data.)

That was a political payoff to AccuWeather in exchange for their bribes campaign contributions. It's a textbook example of the corrupt "crony capitalism" that has screwed up the post-Communist transitions of some of the old Soviet Empire states (most notably Russia itself).

I agree with you....he should be going about his biz, but sidetracked by being pummeled about.

Iraq,
Katrina,
Scooter and Rove,
Jordan bombings
weak election results...
tons of bad PR and even some conservatives are wondering why he is not fighting back

Hey, I am damn sick and tired watching Bush play the role of punching bag. Someone has to conduct an intervention and get Bush back on track.

There is no reason for the lack of leadership -- for instance, where is the President on drilling in the Arctic wasteland?

I'm starting to think all the Rino Republicans just shot everyone in the foot and ALL the Republicans are in trouble in '06, even Conservatives. I hope I'm wrong but I am worried.

I'm trying to share your optimism, but after Tuesday, I'm not sure Rick can do it. Our only hope is that Casey opens his mouth early and often.

My husband and I call him the invisible president.

Well gee, kinda of hard to be a positive President when you have a proven liberal biased MSM, reporting, and some people on FR sucking up the MSM "news" like mother's milk.

How realistic is it was it for the junior senator not to know howe many people he alienated by NOT supporting Toomey?

Of course he knew. I think he overestimated how many people would understand that he had no choice in the matter. You don't have success in politics while trying to unseat senior members of your own party.

People don't want to live in reality and want to punish Rick for doing what he had to do.

IAC, he needs to go full bore to win them back. His argument must be that Casey WILL vote down the line with a very liberal party, or be treated like a pariah as his father was.

Of course he needs to win them back. But they have to start seeing things more clearly. Put themselves in Rick's shoes and honestly look at his choices. If he had bucked Bush and Specter, and Specter still won, he would be a pariah in the Senate and in his party.

I just bought two copies of Santorum's book on Amazon to give as gifts and I encourage all Freepers to do likewise.

Read it. And then tell me this isn't exactly the kind of man we want in the senate.

I think I'm going to post this on every "Santorum sucks" thread. The pro-death ghouls are definitely trying to abort Rick.

was unaware people who take their religious faith seriously take home their miscarried fetuses to cuddle and show it to their other children

Allowing your children to see their baby sibling before burial is a reasonable choice for a person to make.

Only an disgusting anti-religious liberal would scoff atband denigrate a family's decision in such a matter.

Maybe the Dems will get a clue here....topple the GOP majority by nominating pro-life Democrats.

Put gun control on the back burner, hit hard at the immigration issue and we could be in a world of hurt come '06 & '08.

"...Listening to all you defeatist losers here on FR is really charging me up. Though I'm a Jerseyite, I think I'm going to work for Rick in 2006. I'd rather go down supporting a good man like Santorum--whom the gays and democrats publicly DESPISE--than supporting some RINO lackey."

Amen, brother. I live a long way from PA. What can we do to help?

Don't they have to hold primaries first? Or is Santorum "the" candidate for the republicans?

Yes and yes. There will be no opposition to his getting the nomination. If those whining here really wanted things to change, they would have a candidate in the primary. Instead, they want to punish Santorum and give the seat to the democrats.

I agree it seems when I have posted what I consider legitimate criticisms of the Bush leadership & the weak appease the Democrats GOP majority in DC, I usually get a lot of nasty responses.
Maybe the so called "right wing" is not welcome in the Republican Party I see today. The party of who?
John McCain?

LOL, I keep cking in to see if the thread evolves into anything constructive, like maybe, plans to defeat our leftwing enemy, and help a conservative.

I guess I'll come back later.

All well and good, but Patty Toomey is NOT the nominee and won't be the nominee, so that's beating a dead horse. Man! Some people never get over their "dream" candidates and get in the real world.

I'd like to have better than DeWin in OH, but HE'S THE CANDIDATE.

"In a word? Philadelphia!"

In another two words: voter fraud (in Philadelphia).

[FYI: President Bush lost PA by a mere 144,248 votes; he lost Philadelphia by 412,106 votes -- remove Philadelphia from the equation and the President (Santorum) wins PA easily!!]

Lots of excellent 2004 PA election data at
