Bass led effort to drop Alaskan wildlife refuge oil drilling plan The decision was a victory for environmentalists and a stunning setback for those who have tried for years to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil development. President Bush has made drilling in the Alaska refuge his top energy priority. The decision to drop the drilling language from a sweeping budget bill came after GOP moderates said they would oppose the budget if it was kept in. Led by Bass, R-N.H., 25 Republicans signed a letter asking GOP leaders strip the language from the bill. "If we reverse the protection for ANWR, then the protection of the White Mountains in New Hampshire, Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon and all other public spaces becomes meaningless," Bass said.

We really needed Delay on this. Blunt caved. I have read that there were only 12 definate no anwr votes. Delay would have hammered away. Even if the votes weren't there Delay would have gone down fighting. Damn Ronnie Earl.

That's why they're after him. It's not just Ronnie Earle.

The Dims have become organized with the MSM and special interests. I think it's mostly by accident, but they are in lock step, for now.

Republicans have provided the opportunities. I mean ALL Republicans...from "them" to "us."

Bass(terd)

No wonder my back hurt so much yesterday. There was ANOTHER knife stuck in it, courtesy of the RINOs in congress.

And the GOP leadership did nothing to stop it.

Now I begin to understand 'Battered Wife Syndrome'..... The bass(terds) keep beating you, because they have convinced you that you have no other place to go... That no matter how badly they treat you, any alternative is even worse.

No, politician flop. While there are far more cows than politicians, the politicians generate far more flop.

An interesting aspect to this story is that while it is claimed to be a victory for environmentalists, it is not a victory for the environment.
Oil will be extracted from a single, narrow insertion into the Earth and then cleanly piped across an uninhabited area free of terrorists.
Think how much oil is spilt on the ground when Muslim terrorists bomb Iraqi pipelines.
ANWR is remote, extremely cold in winter, and filled with huge biting insects in summer. Rabies is epizootic in the area.

He does represent a district that hasn't supported a GOP presidential candidate since it supported Bush 41 over Dukakis. We should be happy he votes for DeLay for ML, frankly.

Traitors ought to be tarred, feathered and set afire! Voting down domestic drilling leaves us vulnerable to the murdering muslims. I hope I'm not too old when the next American revolution starts!
