The Minister of Interior Department asked for Wednesday to the prefects to expel all the foreigners convicted within the framework of thirteen last nights urban violences. Holders of a residence permit including.
It is what he announced Wednesday at the French National Assembly.
"120 foreigners all, not in irregular situation, were condemned" to have taken part in the last nights of urban riots, indicated the Minister of Interior Department at the time of the meeting of the topical questions. "I asked to the prefects that they be expelled without delay of our own territory, including those which have a residence permit", Nicolas Sarkozy specified.
Now there's an idea.
The next step is to start stripping citizenship from first generation immigrants and sending them home. If they don't want to be French then grant them their wish!

how about expell any rioter and his family to their country of origin at the expense of france? I'm sure thats cheaper than burning one car let alone real estate
I'm sure that Chriac would send them out of the country with re-entry visa forms.
I think the discussion should be about where these people should be buried.

Possibly he will change, but his record is not as good as you might expect. His earlier position was, evidently, that the immigrants deserved more welfare goodies. A few sources have said that was his position before the riots began.
When he called the rioters "racailles," I think his point was very different from what it has been made out to be. He was not saying that all the immigrants are scum. He was saying that the rioters were not Muslim fanatics or ordinary immigrants, but young thugs on a spree. In other words, his purpose was to exonerate Islam. The problem is not that they are Muslims but that they are thugs. But the other French politicians and media took his words as a wonderful opportunity to paint him as a fascist pig, and have been playing that note ever since.
In other words, I wouldn't build him up to be a resolute hero who would defend the West, because if he takes power I think we may be disappointed.

This is France man -- a reasonable policy like this won't pass.
The analogy in the U.S. would be kicking out naturalized U.S. citizens for rioting. In other words, France will strip citizenship of foreigners and send them back to their homeland, even if they've never been there or speak the language. The leftists will have a cow over this!
Isn't Sarkozy first/second-generation immigrant? Those who have lived in dire times GET it with great clarity. I'll vote for him.
Sarkozy must feel like an island of sanity in a sea of.. well... Frenchmen.
The problem is the vast majority of the people involved are not first-generation immigrants. France is their country of origin.

"resident passes" does not equal citizenship.
Chirac would probably compensate the Muslim arson-terrorists for the cost of the matches and petrol used to torch the buildings, etc.
