French roast
San Fran Chronicle ^ | Nov. 8, 2005 | Debra J. Saunders

SOME FRANCE-bashers are taking great delight in the Muslim riots that are burning French neighborhoods and claimed their first fatality Monday. But this 12-night rampage is no laughing -- or gloating -- matter. It is as tragic as it was inevitable.

Coverage of the riots by major American media has been incomplete. Headlines have referred to "angry French teens" and "angry immigrants." That's misleading. According to a French official, most of these rioters are French born -- the children or grandchildren of African and Arab immigrants. The word that is missing in the headlines, and that comes in later paragraphs in news stories is: Muslim. Hence the frequent rioters' cry: Allahu Akbar. God is great. Not that you'll read that in the New York Times.

About 10 percent of France's population is Muslim, largely the children and grandchildren of immigrants from North Africa. Unemployment is rampant among French Muslims, as high as 30 percent or more, by some estimates. Many blame French prejudice against ethnic Arabs and Africans. The government's stated ideal of colorblind integration certainly has failed miserably, as unemployed families simply aren't going to integrate into a middle-class culture.

A country collapsing under the wieght of socialism first reveals the frailties of its society.

French roast? French toast? French fried? French boiled? It's all a matter of cuisine and particular taste.

Off with their heads. Let them eat cake {or frommage}.

Is it the government that failed or the muslims that have failed? If the government offers and you refuse to accept whose fault is that?

..."The entire planet has been endangered by rogue extremists who promote violence in the name of Islam."...

The piece is good, until she puts in the disclaimer about "rogue extremists". The problem is not muslim "extremists", it is islam itself. Modern civilization is in mortal peril because of the resurgence of islam in a continuation of the Crusades. Islamic leaders apparently believe, and I fear may be correct in that belief, that there are enough muslims with enough technology to begin to systematically attack the West. The goal is to push it back and at the least re-take Europe in a bid to re-establish a muslim caliphate. We in the USA must begin to identify the problem frankly for what it is, islam, not "radical islam" or "rogue muslim extremists", or some other wishy-washy terms. Islam is on the march worldwide, it has nothing to do with Iraq, or Israel, or the West Bank or any other of the liberal whipping boys.

This is a 12th Century mentality that thinks in terms of centuries, even millenia, and will not be stopped by "dialogue" or "communication" or "understanding", or any other liberal mush. The enemy - islam - is an implacable foe, far more dangerous than the Nazis or Imperial Japan. It cannot be reasoned with, it can only be defeated in totality and finally. Otherwise, we are doomed.

What started around Paris could happen anywhere.

So, what effect does the Paris riots have on the Left's policies of multiculturalism and diversity?

With France in flames, and the rest of Europe waiting for the other shoe to drop, where can the Left point to as an example of the Utopian dream brought on by multiculturalism and diversity?

The MSM is catching up...a learning curve. Of course, it takes a Socialist government to be a victim of "Rogue Elements" to get their attention to the war Islam has declared on the West...and semi west...and other religions

As has been said before, this particular societal group has also fallen for the hip-hop/gangsta lifestyle, thereby making meaningful employment a virtual impossibility.

Radical Islam and gangsta-ism in the land of the most arrogant Euro-snobs. A fine mess indeed.

I agree 100%. They refuse to assimilate into society, so this should come as no surprise to authorities, yet they seem mystified by the actions of the Islamo-fascists.

"The piece is good, until she puts in the disclaimer about "rogue extremists"."

I agree 100%. It's not a religion. Rather it is a cult of first submission and then death.

They're socialists. They will just make another law and start another five-year program. That is if they can get to their offices through the burned out-cars and gunfire.

It's either the "poor" or the "youth" name tag on what is clearly a muslim problem. They don't assimilate into society and would just love for western civilization to disappear.

Hej Everybody!!!!

I'm over here and you can't BELIEVE what's going on!!!

I can only imagine how much information is NOT getting back to the States. And surprisingly, some of the "details" are getting supressed over here ... depending on the source.

France does have a bitter pill to swallow and I can't help but wonder how this will impact all the other "politically correct" countries over here.

And YES.... BWHAAAAhaahaahaahaaha the chickens are coming home to roost!
