A member of the collective then added, "Resistence is futile; you will be assimilated."
What a stupid name for a group.

We dont know why they did it, Jacki Sellens, former OU student and Greenbriar member, said. We only know that we know that they would never do anything to hurt anyone.
How very reassuring.
I doubt that they could were they to be in a federal lock-up for a time.

Man how times have changed.
When we "broke into the tunnels" at college it was a totally different time and attitude..
Cop: OK, what fraternity are you with?
Me: We're just scouting locations to play dungeons and dragons
cop: Fine, don't tell me but you better not be having any orgies down there.
Me: No sir, girls won't go down there.
Cop: Yeah well they have better sense. Now, get out of here.
It's a different world... the modern world is so wonderful and so terrible all at the same time.

So, the FBI paid these "peace-loving" anarchists a visit or two, just weeks prior to Hinrichs blowing himself up. And, they have visited them prior as well. The public face that Boren and others have put forth, that this is "an isolated incident," a "lone suicide," would seem to be completely shot down by these FBI visits. What prompted them to drop in on these guys? The other OU student with the pipe bomb, attempting to board a plane? Internet "chatter?" There's a connecting thread somewhere. The Triangle frat?
And, whatever happened to Hinrich's car, when was it removed from the apartment parking lot?
Regardless, it is quite plain now, that the FBI and Boren were lying.

"...the Greenbriar Collective, a group that practices organic gardening and operates a lending library out of a house in east Norman. "
Rushton said he refused to let the men inside the house.
They said If something happens in Norman, President George W. Bush will call and say Get me John Rushton, Rushton said.
Oh my, aren't we important. Faced down those nasty FBI agents all by ourselves, did we?
John Rushton sounds like a real pantload. Somehow I picture Mr. Rushton as a young John Kerry wannabe, a wet-behind-the-ears spoiled college student blowhard, totally full of himself and out to get anybody in the establishment while painting himself as a victim of it.

Two former OU students accused of breaking into OUs underground tunnel network are members of a local activist group that claims it has been harassed by the FBI. People who whine they're being harrassed are usually trying to shift the focus away from their own activities. Seems the Greenbriar Collective and Norman Islamists have that much in common, at least. I suspect they have more in common than that.

Were fairly sure [the FBI] will be back, said Maka Laughingwolf, Norman resident and Greenbriar member. But were not worried about it, because were not doing anything wrong.....
....anymore.
Maka Laughingwolf just bought himself and his buddies a lengthy term of "observation".

Now that's just ridiculous. Everybody knows it's Karl Rove that makes those phone calls.

I know that guy. He was in my American Government class, also on a campus network file-sharing hub using the handle "aither". He and I were the most vocal participants in the class, though on totally different sides. It was fun. Didn't expect he'd be so freakin' stupid as to break into anything. Though this group was also responsible for a break-in in one of the Zoology buildings in which they decided to re-unite families of mice. Their ignorance of Biology was very apparent, because male mice kill the young.
