Thx for the ping FD.
France won't fall, tho. She has 350 nuclear warheads and nuclear power plants.
My hope is that Chirac will turn to Sarkozy and turn him loose. It is very interesting that the rioters are quite linear in their approach. So far they are just burning things. When they get around to killing or if the riots move out of the ghettos and into Paris proper, Sarkozi will get his chance, IMO.
Every day that the rioting continues, the French slide further to the right on the political spectrum.

Ya think? I think Chirac is still in shock over the French voting against his beloved EU constitution... he was so anxious to use that to poke us with at every chance, take over the world currency from USA, etc... when will they get his to step down??

Every day that the rioting continues, the French slide further to the right on the political spectrum. Perhaps this is the aim of continuing the "soft" approach.

This just in:
Today, France has decided to file court papers against the state of North Carolina for copyright infringement.
It seems that the state slogan of NC: "First in Flight", is too close to the French state slogan "First to Flee", and they are demanding royalties.
