Look into this. I believe that this official violated the law when he met w/Mrs. Chambers. For one, there was a conflict of interest because as ombudsmen, he should have been protecting (advocating) for Jimmy Chambers. Ignoring Jimmy Chamber's oral wishes is a dereliction of the ombudsmen's duty. I'd have the SC Long Term Care Ombudsmen investigated. I bet they do this all the time. MAJOR CONFLICT OF INTEREST TO GO AGAINST THE PATIENT simply because there was no durable power of attorney. That's just not right. I'm thinking about other SC patients. Are they getting forced out by the Ombudsmen who is supposed to advocate for them?????

From WND: "Since Chambers had not designated a durable power of attorney, Mrs. Chambers was affirmed as his medical decision-maker by the South Carolina Long Term Care Ombudsman, the state agency charged with advocating on behalf of nursing home patients."
