Man, I wish I was back in Hawaii right now. :-(

Hi, CCC, fun times there huh? :)

Thank you! The blue halter has a matching skort on the same web site!

Saw it, and the short silk dress, too. We could wear the dress anywhere, couldn't we?

Now this......we should save for the luau so we can be dressed properly for the hula lessons from tulip tonight. :)

GBU, I noticed I got your *name* wrong in my earlier post to you. :)

Just FReepmail me with your thoughts - we might run it by snugs, too, for her input?

Kevin's wife went out to party the first night she was home from the hospital with a new baby???? Good grief! Thank goodness there was a very happy ending to an unhappy beginning for all of you. Renewing the wedding vows on the island sounds so romantic. I'll have to agree you raised 'em proper and romantic and as gentlemen!

You know, as much as I have travelled, I have not yet been to Hawaii!! I would love to go and dive with the whales and see Lahaina. If you have never read it, I highly recommend Michener's "Hawaii". xoxoxoxoxo

Hey sis! So happy to see you here, and thank you again for saying you're impressed with the gradient background. You remember I was nervous about it the first time, not knowing if it was going to look tacky or if it blended as well for most others; I knew that you and I had slightly different sized text, so it put me at ease to hear that it looked okay on your screen, too.

Now.....can I join you with one of those mai tai's?! :)

You need to go to Hawaii, scubachick! Babychick needs to go to Hawaii too.......actually, so do I. Why don't all three of us go? ;-)

Yes, I did read "Hawaii", but for some reason only made it about half way through. The book is in the office somewhere, I should read it again - all the way through this time. :-)

Mai Tai Recipes
This is Trader Vic's Original Mai Tai recipe. You'll note that there's nary a drop of orange or pineapple juice. For this reason, Mai Tais made with any sort of juice (besides lime juice) are not "true" Mai Tais.

The Original Formula - 1944

2 ounces of 17-year old J. Wray & Nephew Rum over shaved ice.
Add juice from one fresh lime.
1/2 ounce Holland DeKuyper Orange Curacao.
1/4 ounce Trader Vic's Rock Candy Syrup.
1/2 ounce French Garier Orgeat Syrup
Shake vigorously.
Add a sprig of fresh mint

"Old Way" Mai Tai Formula - 1997

1 ounce Fine Jamaican Rum (15 or 8 year old)
1 ounce Martinique Rum (St. James)
1/2 ounce Orange Curacao
1/2 ounce Orgeat Syrup
Juice from one fresh lime (about 3/4 ounce)
Mix and serve as in the Original Formula

I'm doing good, thanks! I think CounterCounterCulture made the post wishing he was back in Hawaii, but I wouldn't mind being back there either. :)

Yes, when I have made Mai Tai's at home, I have used orange juice, and they were okay, but not as sticky sweet as REAL Mai Tai's.

Actually, Trader Vic's makes a pretty good Mai Tai mix...

Just add rum and stir!

Aloha, PAL. I need to get myself out to see my MIL at the rehabilitation center. TTYL
