Hmmm, I'm surprised that Martin's liberal socialists didn't immediately round them up and ship them back.

But I thought Cuba was a workers paradise and ...
I do as well...as Lefties believe Cuba is a paradise, and think anyone that wants to flee is just a Fascist Mafioso.
Why don't they publish Castro's response?
What happens now to the wife and daughter?
"For Canadians, Cuba is a tourist paradise. But for Cubans, it is like a big jail," Mr. Sambra said.
I hear the food is better across the barb wire in Gitmo.
My wife was born in Cuba but luckily her family escaped when she was an infant. We're always amazed at how ignorant people are about the conditions in Cuba. I'm not sure but I think that they still ration electricity as well as many other things that advanced societies consider necessities. It's also interesting that before Castro, Cuba was considered the most advanced of Latin American countries.
The miracles of Communism.

"the average Cuban is very outspoken, The goverment basicly lets everybody speak their mind". -Portia Ziegelbaum (CBS News Producer)
My parents were born there...left in March 1961.
I was there a year ago...and the conditions there are deplorable. And that's for people who have access to dollars.
I don't even want to know what it's like for those who do not.
I was 5 yrs old and there when that vermin took over Jan 1, 1959 (I remember the day to this very day). Celebrations broke out throughout Cuba.
I remember my parents driving from Cardenas to Havana that day, and people cheering along the roads, Cuban flags waving everywhere, and my parents along with most Cubans, cheering the end of the Batista regime.
Then the executions started, almost immediately. Under the leadership and direct control of "El Che"!
We departed our homeland on February 22, 1962!
Yeah there were lots of initial supporters who quickly turned against it.
Most of my family was against it before it even happened, but many were for it, and became part of the regime.
They are still clinging to the ideal to this day.
Ping - defectors flee Cuba...
That should be priviledged defectors as these people received better treatment than other Cubans.
I hope I live to see the day when people are flocking back to a free Cuba.
You mean 'this' type of "treatment"...
"In an emergency meeting, she warned the remaining singers that the Cuban government would retaliate against their family members if they tried to seek asylumhere, according to Mr. Sambra.
What I was attempting to express was that these people enjoy a better lifestyle than the majority of their countrymen better housing, better food etc. Yet they still defect. The MSM would have you believe that Cuba is a paridise where all enjoy wonderful health care and education. My favorite intterviews of Castro were conducted by Dan Blather and Barbra WaWa.
BTW Code Pink is arrange a trip to Cuba for Christmas. Now there's a giggle.
