This definitely contributes to an explanation why France and Russia have opposed the war against Iraq that strongly.

They not only opposed the war, they were strongly urging in the Security Council the lifting of sanctions prior to 9/11.

It will barely make the radar of the MSM.

They MSM already had and ran with the stories they like. Just like the WMD which HAVE BEEN FOUND, this will just get burried with time beihind all the rubbish on the net.

Do the French really want to hear this? Even in Germany people will rather not hear this, they won't care and even if it makes a story it will quickly fade away in history and will be forgotten, just like the french made Roland missiles.

Yep. For them, "NO WAR FOR OIL" is exactly what they wanted. No war (whether right or wrong) and they get the oil. As usual, the war critics and leftists were engaged in what they accused war supporters of - making political / war decisions based on whether they got oil or not. Sick, disgusting bastards.

Not news worthy yet. No surprise to me.

MAYBE the FAZ will report it. Most don't "want" to see anymore. Verblended durch Idiologie.

Not that easy. The russian, swiss, french, italian companies getting the allocations from the iraqis were just front comapanies. The oil ended up elsewhere.

Follow the oil, and you find that large oil trading consortiums are behind the funding of these schemes, as detailed in the report on pp. 115 ff.

The russian companies for example sold hundreds of millions
of barrels of iraqi oil to Bayoil and Taurus (at a tiny
commission).

Let us not forget the weapons found by our military in January of 2003 or 2004, can't remember, dementia setting in, were stamped "France", with the year on them... some German... I wish I had the link but I did read it here in Free Republic... I would venture to say another reason they were adamently opposed to the war...
