Elijah Muhammad (Elijah Poole) began his advocacy for black supremacy in the 1930s when he met W.D. Fard, an ex-convict who preached that he was Allah’s last prophet. Fard had much success in influencing his flock, and Elijah Muhammad became heavily involved in the movement, calling himself the “Divine Messenger of Allah.” The Divine Messenger was born in 1897 in Sandersville, Georgia. In his message to the black men of America, Muhammad refers to Caucasians as “White devils,” “men of sin,” “beasts,” “serpents,” “anti-Christs,” and “archdeceivers.” The white devils “cannot produce good, for they are without the nature of good” . . . “All manner of evil and corruption has come from the white race” . . . “As long as the devil is on our planet we will continue to suffer injustice and unrest and have no peace.”

Yeah, especially the part about all those white guys burned to death after the million man march. That was nearly as terrifying as the prediction that millions of blacks will grab machetes after the next MMM and start hacking whites to death like the Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda.

Burrell is counting on fringe-dwelling rhetoric from a dying movement to scare whites who have little knowledge of the truth and the honest history of the FOI and the Panthers (by the way...LEO went to war against the panthers in the 60s-70s and killed, captured or drove most of the leaders from the country - bobby Seale's latest activity is a cook book - Oh the horror!). You write as if there were no history to show us the decline and pending demise of the FOI and the panthers. These quacks have had their day and have near zero influence in their own community. If it were not for Larry King and Sean Hannity looking for shock value they would get near zero exposure. But, hey, go ahead, make a campaign out of a dead issue. I am certain that you will find some folks on this side to listen.

Look, the fact that one form, more or less organized, has fallen to the side is not an argument against the underlying motivation. That's really what I am pointing out. Farrakhan plays off any inequality as a mass system of hate and discrimination. Any time a black person gets fired or gets a parking ticket there is some form of slavery which the white people created that the black people need to free themselves from (hint, hint). I am not trying to argue that there is a Katrina-Riot Mob out there that has some conspiracy, I'm saying the riot mob is there waiting for the excuse or circumstances to trigger it. Y2K, if it had occurred, would have probably seen widespread race violence. It probably would start off as looting, then violence, then become more organized to "exterminate the white race."
