You're in Sarasota, I'm on the east coast...

..but same thing, not a single thing stirring this AM....no birds, frogs, anything!

Can anyone tell me what that means?

Do the animals know something we don't?......have they gone somewhere to wait it out?

We usually have ducks, herons. etc. feeding in our lake...

...not today.

About 5 minutes before we had our 6.9 quake our dog went beserko and began barking like he had gone insane.
My oldest daughter was outside in the goat pen and I heard them begin yelling. I was still trying to figure out what the heck was going on when the quake hit.

I'm sure the animals can sense the increasing drop in pressure, and instinct tells them to hide.

Birds seem to have an inate sense of impending danger.

Legend goes that the reason the ibis is the mascot for the University of Miami is that is the last bird to leave when a hurricane is on its way.

The only Hurricanes we love -- Let's go 'Canes! (My apologies to the Seminoles, Knights, Bulls, and, uh, 'Gators... I guess.)
