I don't think so. Check this out: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutmeow.shtml

I clicked Gulf Coast Region, Category 2, Forward Motion (20 knots). It says MAX WIND=090 KT, SPEED OF MOTION=20 KT, and shows a result of 110 KT.

NHC says they figure the forward speed into the MAX speed but I agree it does not seem so with the stats you are showing. I heard today Orange County Public Schools are closed tomorrow. That is a biggie. They always hold out until they have no choice.

Hey! Checking in from Miami Lakes here. Work crews are out this morning trimming trees by the power lines. They are hoping to prevent the lines from going down. It would be nice not to lose power, but I doubt that will happen.

We just have to drag in the patio furniture, then I'm on to cooking. Mr. Twin2's big concern is do we shut all of the rollodin shutters, or leave one open so when do lose power we still can get a breeze through here. I'm inclined to close them all and sweat it out.

From this image, Gulf Coast region, Cat 2, forward motion 20 kts, it shows penetration of winds between 55 and 80 knots to a hundred miles, give or take, (match the color scales, there are several similar shades of red) and a very few areas of 80 to 90 knot winds.
