If she continues on the trajectory she's on now, it might even be Marco Island.

There are some people on this thread who have elderly parents on Marco Island. I sure hope they changed their minds by now and finally agreed to evacuate! Any luck yet?

Unfortunately, no luck yet. I will be calling them in a few minutes, and I plan to tell them that it may be the last time I ever speak to them. Going for the shock factor. If that doesn't work, I will try to get ahold of the police down there.

Hi. Thank you for your prayers and concern. I'm so glad that your parents got off of the island, MIsunshine - they are smart to have left.

We thought that we had convinced my MIL to leave. My 3rd cousin lives in Naples and she had offered to pick her up and let her stay at her apartment (while she volunteered at a shelter). At first she agreed. But when she called back later to get her, she refused to leave. My husband called and told her that there wasn't much time left and said she should call my cousin by 5pm to get her or she wouldn't be able to get her anymore.

Well, we just called her and she is still home. She's not leaving. There's nothing left for us to to but hope for the best and not be surprised by the worst.
