"...Alpha becomes the twenty-second named storm of the season and
breaks the all-time record for the most active season on record... "

Let's see...

1. All time most active Atlantic season.

2. All time lowest pressure for any Atlantic hurricane.

3. All time most rapid development, 0 to 60 in lt 24 hours.

4. All time earliest major hurricane in the Gulf.

5. All time poorest state and local response in history, including Bangladesh.

6. All time most expensive hurricane.

7. All time record for most major Gulf hurricanes (?)

Did I miss any?

No matter, it's all downhill from now on, the worst hurricane season ever, almost behind us.

Unless next year's worse.

Spin Alert: Beware of the record being touted (seriesly) on NBC News just now. Cuba holds the record for least number of people killed in hurricanes. The reported number is 38 (ever).

Yeah, right.

Surely there couldn't have been a s-l-o-w-e-r hurricane than Wilma on record.
