She's taking a break for a couple of hours.

Which I might just do; I'm actually nodding off!

Thank you! Interesting....can't take the whole crab body, just a claw. Sounds pretty tedious to me! And the "harvest" season just started.

No peepholes. I decided I'd rather not see what's out there until it's over. I'll settle for listening to it, which will be bad enough, I'm sure.

Nevermind, that error code means wind data should still be accurate

Is she at risk?? I've really been away, and have no clue.

Hey, if you make a big peephole, keep in mind that every time you put your eye up to it, something could come through and hit you. The chances would be very small, but theoretically, it could happen.

I'm hoping Naples doesn't get the storm surge too bad, but I imagine the winds will be high. My Mom has a condo on the beach (but she's up north at the moment) and said 15 people in the condo bldg. are going to ride it out. The janitor thought her car would be safer under the carport than out in an exposed parking lot on higher ground away from beach.

The parking lot (and building) is only a couple of steps up from the beach. Not sure if it will be enough - the storm surge is estiamted at 2' to 4' in Naples. I told her not to expect her car to be worth anything (1980's big cadillac). She said - oh - won't they be able to fix it up? I said probably not with the salt water. She gets so worked up over the smallest things. But with her car - "Well, it's just a car. Not like thoses folks in Louisiana that lost their homes, jobs, everything". I guess 87 years of experience sheds perspective on things!

Hope its not too bad for her - she heads back down after Christmas. She did say the Condo just put in all new landscaping this year.

Ft. Meyers is quite a ways north of naples. naples will be worse. so much for my mom's car (parked 2' above and 100' from the beach!)

You won't be sorry. Like I said up the thread, I tortured myself all night. I couldn't stop myself from looking even though I knew it would scare me.... even though I knew it might make me have to go change clothes after peeing all over myself. lol!

LOL!!

Okay... I debated telling you about this... but...

I was watching one of those storm stories on the weather channel one day... and... they had these people who were in Ophelia (I think... some hurricane on the Atlantic). Anyway, they ended being saved because they latched onto a mattress. Mattress' apparently float. I didn't know that, but now I do. I hope you never need that info... but... if you do... you know.

No quite the oppisite.

What is worrisome is when like last week NOAA issued a Tsunami Alert over TV and Radio and FORGOT to put THIS IS A TEST in the announcement.

Part of the County evacuated before the correction was made.

Hmm, 130kt fl winds found; sounds a bit too high though

That's why they turned around and sampled it again. But the second time, they found 136kt winds.
