Whoa, for a moment there I wasn't sure whether he was talking about the CIA or the DIA..... This is HUGE! This is 'insider' confirmation (anonymous, but hope it will be followed up well) that the "Able Danger" and "Valerie Plame" stories really are parallel tracks about gross complacency, sloth, ineptitude, and then open subversion of the elected WH administration at both DIA and CIA. Both agencies botched huge opportunities before (and probably after) 9/11, and both seem to have turned to a variety of stonewalling and disinformation to prevent the public from learning the true stories about Able Danger and also the Iraq WMD stories. Both agencies have a variety of insiders who have been vigorously working to undermine the Bush WH. BINGO!

Also, I found the following comment on the thread at Captain's Quarters blog (from someone going by 'coldwarrior415') to be very well expressed (sounds like he's claiming first-hand knowledge, though I have no idea who he is):
"Tenet ran the CIA like it was the New Orleans PD. Jacoby ran DIA like he was a small town shop keeper. In the process the migration of most of the best case officers, operators and analysts into retirement of civilian jobs was mind-boggling. The mediocre ones stayed on...had their retirement to nurture...and did nothing that would even look like it was out of the box. The few keepers of the flame who stayed on found that promotion and assignments dried up. Their voices were shut out of the process. "Getting on board" was the password. Fail to heed that password and your career was over. The damage done to our intelligence capabilities in the 90's will take a decade more to undo...but only if we are willing to insist on a good housecleaning."
