I'm a Yankee fan, despite being a native Texan and I'm pulling for the White Sox, too.
I was never in favor of giving up on Contreras and El Duque.
"Go Sox! All the Way!"
Then, when, Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez and Jose Contreras are named as Twin MVP's, Uncle Fidel can have the final big stroke of his life.
Castro probably hates the Astros too ... h*ll, he hates all of America.
I admire the Cubans willing to leave the island for freedom but
Go Astros!
Shut up and die, Fidel. Steven Spielberg, Oliver Stone, and Robert Redford will send flowers.
What America will get with the socialist democrats socialized medicine project once they have the power to enact such. Hillary care at its best as you die on the floor, waiting for some off-duty janitor to doan his EMT uniform, catch public transportation to the ambulance holding area, sign 18 documents in triplicate to get the ambulance issued to him, drive to the "energy" pumps to put in a new battery because the one in the ambulance has run low because of no solar power because of global warming and cloudy skys, drives to the 7-11 for his mandatory 1 hour smoke break and coffee, then to the station at the end of the street to get a street map. He then drives to your house to find you dead. He calls 9-1-1 to report finding a dead body and not a sick person. Asks for the local coroner be sent to his location.
Local coroner is notified . . . (repeat all above)
Yup, welcome to socialism. Coming to America sooner than you think.
Oh, man. I want the Astros because they never won before. This is making it tough.
Careful! Reports are that Hugo Chavez is rooting for the WS also - one of the coaches is Venezuelan.
The only thing better than Castro being out of power is Castro being embarassed in his favorite sport.
But I thought hollywood said Cuba is a paradise. oh well.
Great story and adds even more back drama to the Series, between a team that's never been before and one that hasn't won in 88 years.
It looks like it will be a pitcher's Series, which to a large extent it always is. Prediction: somebody will win in seven!
But then it occurred to me that Chicago hasn't won a World Series for just as many years as Boston went hungry, even though there are two MLB teams in Chicago.
So if Boston had "The Curse of the Bambino" what does Chicago have? "The Curse of Shoeless Joe Jackson"? And who put the whammy on the Cubs?
Never won before? Hell, we've never even BEEN to the Series before!
Sounds sort of like my friend's trip to the USSR in the 80's. After the tour bus stopped for "refreshments" in which all the tourists got to drink orange soda from a communal cup, the bus driver started the bus, drove for a mile or so and then pulled over and proceeded to read a book. When asked what was wrong, he said he was on his break and for everyone to be quiet for 15 minutes.
Meaning no disrepect ... but if you're feeling conflicted, take a page from Oswalt's playbook and buck up ...
Go Astros!
I'm so blue, Cubbie blue. Please Astros defeat the Pale Hose. Stike a dagger to the wicked Soud Siderz!!!!
I believed that myself for several years, but:

Claim: Future Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro was once given a tryout by the Washington Senators baseball team.
