.the NBA is going down the tubes and that will just hasten it more.....
going down the tubes? It's already there.
Your average NBA player/coach/owner has to climb up a ladder just to get to sewer level.

When you go back...to the NBA of the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, the 1980s...you see professional players. And even through the early 90s...you still saw some resemblance to a real team and smart individuals. But since the mid-90s...its been a downward trend.
Allen Iverson is a gangsta player....nothing more. He could never hold his own against Julius Erving or Larry Bird. Go through the top 10 players in the league today. Few of them could compete at the level that Dave DeBusschere or Bill Russell did.
When the league went for flashy play, 18 year-old high school players, and refused demand off-the-court professionalism...they started a trend. When the league knew that Jordan was gambling in a major way...they should have put their foot down. When characters like Dennis Rodman was given absolute free rein to act like he did...it was wrong.
If the NBA wants to take back the league and fix the situation...then start with the clothing rule, and then ban any player from coming straight out of high school, and demand at least two years of college before he can be drafted. Anybody caught with reports of gambling or drugs...suspended until they are either cleared or admit guilt and face a two-year suspension.
