John Lennon was arguably a great music visionary, but his actual eyesight must have just plain sucked.
John: Me, me, ME! It's all about me! Why don't they love ME as much as Paul?
Tell the truth Yoko. Chapman was after you and you pushed John in front of you.
"Best act in the world today" because the "singer" is married to an anti-American actress who spouts off about how much she loves living in Europe. The "singer" himself a loud critic of America/Bush.
As a vocalist, McCartney was head and shoulders above Lennon. I love them both, but McCartney was a better singer.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! About the only singer I can think of who would be "afraid" to cover a John Lennon tune because he was such a damned great singer is...Yoko Ono!
Best Act in the World Today????? My, aren't we pretentious.
As for Mrs Lennon.... petty, petty, petty.....
her name is really a typo - it was supposed to have been the first thing her mother said when she saw her for the first time - "Yuck-o" and "oh no!"
What are Paul's top 3 songs since he was on his own?
What are John's top 3? Who ranked higher as a solo?
Yoko rhymed "Eeeeeeeeeyaaaaaahaaaaaaeeeeeeee!!!" with "Eyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhaeeeeaeeeeee!"
Took the words right out of my mouth.
I work in the music business and it cracks me up how musicians demand the world live in peace and harmony when they won't among themselves. Some of them are the biggest hypocrites I've ever known.
1. Where would Yoko Ono be if it hadn't been for Paul McCartney?
2. Where would Paul McCartney be if it hadn't been for Yoko Ono?
'Nuff said.
Hear, hear. Great post.
Leave it to an idjit to argue with success. The Beatles were the sum of their parts and Yoko Ono was a definite negative.
As per McCartney, least ways, he has kept on keepin' on. Lennon retreated into a cocoon spun by a Black Widow.
I give her credit for one thing...and one thing only.
For an ugly broad...she still f---ed her way to a helluva bankroll.
I wouldn't necessarily disagree (I personally think it's kind of a wash) - but I can promise you that when the majority of singers are sitting around, talking about greatness, neither of their names come up. They're both just fine, and I love many of their tunes, but vocal giants they're not.
But I'd take either of them over, say, Jim Morrison.
An example of a truly great rock singer, imo: Glenn Hughes.
We'll probably all agree that Yoko Ono has always been a giant pain in the ass. At least she's consistent.
ROTFLMAO
Hell, with all the many millions that she inherited it's even more plausible that she *hired* Chapman.
I work in the music business, too, and you're right. I think it's kind of a lefty characteristic, honestly. Look at the anti-war demonstrators.
