Uh...what?
Just saw U2 at MSG tonight. It is well worth the $1000 to see him. I would gladly pay it.
Color me surprised!
Yep, Santorum may win reelection afterall.
Rock on Rick...
Unless this is a joke, I'm going to have to adjust my paradigm.
Lucky dude. I'm thankful that U2 still rocks and puts on a great show.
But, you know, it's $20k.
It will be interesting to see whether Bono says anything. The part of the story saying they have similar views are, well, let's say, supposition at best.
I'm still waiting for Rick S. to publicly ask why Harriet Meiers lef the Catholic Church - - I guess it wasn't good enough for her.
If what you are saying is true then it's outright lying. From the article:
"The thousand-dollar-a-seat concert has been put together by Sean and Ana Wolfington and will take place at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia in support of Santorums re-election, reports NewsMax's James Hirsen."
sorry but he is still a muppet. this is a guy who tells the world their tax money should go to help the poor, yet he does not pay any in ireland...beacuse of 'artisitc' tax breaks...
priceless...
Wh Wh Wh WHAT????
Harriet Miers is an ex-Catholic?
I've been running a silly gag about a secret cabal of papists taking over the US Supreme Court (Roberts, Thomas, Scalia and Kennedy). Miers being a "cypto-Catholic" is perfect.
(For the record, Thomas was an ex-Catholic when he was appointed, but rejoined the Catholic church. It's news to me if Miers has any Catholic history, but she's moving that direction... I'm told she now attends a conservative Anglican church.)
Stephen Tubbs from Colorado Morning News here on KOA 850am in Denver was at the concert tonight in NY. Can't wait to hear his account of the concert.
U2 was awesome! on Conan O'Brien last Thursday night. Bono had positive things to say about President Bush and others in the current administration.
I saw Bono interviewed when Blair had the G8 in Scotland and they discussed third world debt relief. He said then that if politicians do the right thing (from his perspective, of course) then the people calling for it (debt relief) need to be vocally supportive of them when it happened. I thought it was a pleasant change from those who demand, get what they want, and then continue to denigrate anyway.
Bono did mention working with Tony Blair while he was on with Conan O'Brien as well. And with North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms before he retired a few years ago. Helms even attended a U2 concert.
It would take U2 to get anyone in Philly to a Santorum fundraiser, but glad they are doing it.
