If you are just looking for numbers of bodies you would attack on a weekday but attacks on weekend with less bodies would bring a lot of cities to their knees by the fear---no day trippers,no tourists,less theatre and dining out etc.
The Bali killings weren't huge numbers but I'll bet the Bali economy will hurt because of them.
I used to attend a church where one of the ushers was a detective with the police department. The joke was "a .45 on the hip is worth 50 in the plate."
I was in the stadium on 9-11 all i could think of was how easy a car bomb can be driven right into the stadium...something as powerful as say a Saudi-Style hotel bomb (on either side of the stadium simultaniously) would collapse the stadium, we'd be looking at 30,000+ dead.

According to information gathered, the target date for a possible terror attack on New York subways is this Sunday, Oct. 9. Yet, American officials cannot seem to agree if that gathered information is credible.
Officials tell ABC News that, according to the source, the three bomb makers had built hundreds of suicide bombs in Iraq and had already sent 19 members of their group to the United States.
You know, one of the main subjects of the piece on FNC was that New York City has formed a task force that is separate from the Feds...after 9/11....which would give them perhaps more and faster knowledge than other cities...
So, you might be right about other cities being put on alert...but they may just have what the feds give them...where NEW YORK has their own intelligence...

Hopefully we have this guy's head in vice right now. Maybe admitting to a subway attack was a completely believable headfake. Who knows, pure speculation. But with the recent attempted bombing in OK you can't help but speculate.
Why the hell are we still allowing flights into the U.S. from Syria? At least we know after the attack we'll have the 4th AQ handlerr's photograph, fingerprints, fake passport and U.S. approved visa on file with the DHS at JFK airport. Whoever gave this guy a visa should be sent to Gitmo.
