The Islamofascist challenge (review of Bush's great speech)
Washington Times ^ | 10/7/05 | staff

In one of the most significant speeches of his presidency, President Bush yesterday specifically named the threat the United States faces today: Islamofascism. It is necessary to explain to the American people the nature of the broader enemy, and that is precisely what the president did. Mr. Bush also warned state sponsors of terror such as Iran and Syria that Washington "makes no distinction between those who commit acts of terror and those who support and harbor them, because they're equally as guilty of murder."

Washington "makes no distinction between those who commit acts of terror and those who support and harbor them, because they're equally as guilty of murder."

So we will be going after Cuba and Saudi Arabia soon?

The local TV channel cut away from the speech halfway through. They can't stand the truth.

When Castro kicks the bucket, I'm quite sure Cuba, with our help, will no longer be communist.

As for Saudi Arabia, they are now fighting the monster they created.

It was a great speech. Many important points were made that he has failed to convey in the past that the rest of us have had to convey for him. I hope he keeps repeating those points.

Right but putting the speech front and center where it belongs, would not fit with the MSM plan to minimize the successes of this administration. Looking back on the two Bush administrations, the Americans and the world at large will call themselves lucky that Bush was where he was, who he was, when he was. For now, the MSM is not running anything factual or positive and are basically force feeding propaganda to the viewers. Funny, Clinton 'Mr. No Pants President' had (has) his flabby-face/radish nose mug in front of a camera if he gets a hang nail but a major speech by the premier statesman of the most powerful national entity in the universe is cut off if it is presented at all. Oh well, the numb skull kool aid drinkers need their 'Clinton fix'.

The MSM is still fawning over the worthless Clinton years as if there was ANYTHING significant that he accomplished.

Bush should have gone further and declared that any nation that aids or abets those who use of WMDs on US soil will be a target for nuclear retaliation. Let the mullahs in Tehran take notice.

Do you know if the speech is archived somewhere on-line? My husband said it was one of Pres. Bush's best speeches. I was in NYC yesterday on business and didn't get a chance hear it.

A more stable Iraq will free up about 100,000 US troops for another conquest!
