Leave it to the NYT to try to falsely portray the evo/creationist debate as a liberal/conservative debate. A simple look at the evolution debates right here on FR demonstrate that there's only a tiny handful (probably trolls) who take an ignorant head in the sand anti-science stand while a simple click on a typical creationist site reveals their radical left wing opinion of Darwin's Influence on Ruthless Laissez Faire Capitalism

Well said. The debate tactics of creationists reminds me of the slogan of the Clinton administration: "Admit nothing, deny everything and make counter-accusations."

This struck me as typical NYT "fact" finding. The author is projecting his feelings onto the subject, creating the evidence to reach his desired conclusion.
