I'd suspect some of our numerous refinery fires too. It's a dangerous business, but there's been a ton of fires in the last few years.
Good point about the refinery fires. There's a big refinery near Torrance CA. Now that you mention it, there have been several fires there, and I believe that there have been a few in Wilmington CA. This has happened off and on over the years, but now that you mention it, the incidents have gone up since 2001.
