Ann Coulter: Miers a 'Complete Mediocrity'
Newsmax ^ | Monday, Oct. 3, 2005

Posted on 10/03/2005 3:07:23 PM PDT by nickcarraway

Count Ann Coulter among the conservatives who are unhappy with President Bush’s nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

Asked by NewsMax.com if she considers Miers to be what she had called John Roberts after his nomination - a "tabula rasa” - Coulter, who’s now out with the paperback edition of her best-seller "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must),” said:

"No. She’s something new: a complete mediocrity.”

Ouch.

Anne doesn't pull punches does she?

And in this case, she's not wrong.

In "Roberts" case she wasn't wrong either.

Am I the only one who noticed that when introducing her, President Bush didn't use the term "...exceptionally well qualified to sit on the Highest Court of our nation." He said she was "...exceptionally well suited to sit on the Highest Court of our nation." Admission that only non-entities can make it past the Democrats in Congress? Or that the Supreme Court is not worth a fight?

Aw, she's just ticked because the President didn't pick her.

Maybe now all the guys around here (and they are ALL guys) who think AC is such a great pundit will finally realize she's just a bimbo with some snappy patter.

Well since Anne didn't like Roberts it's no surprise she doesn't like Miers.

She's one of the few conservatives that still has fight in them.

I think she was wrong about Roberts, but I think she's right about Miers. Let's not forget that Ann is a lawyer, and her columns show (to my mind at least) an acute legal understanding.

I believe it was phrased that way because Miers is utterly unqualified for the job, so to say otherwise would have been a lie.

"No. She’s something new: a complete mediocrity.”

A woman who contributes a large sum of money to the DNC five days before the Dukakis/Bush election is not "mediocrity".

"Maybe now all the guys around here (and they are ALL guys) who think AC is such a great pundit will finally realize she's just a bimbo with some snappy patter."

Actually I have way more respect for her than I had before this. She was the first to warn about the way Bush's nominations were going. I thought she was unhinged about Roberts, but I think this confirms that she was right all along (in her logical principles, not necessarily about Roberts). The bimbo's are the ones that are saying "just trust the President". I like W alot personally, but "just trust me" is not an argument worthy of support.

Ji Robinson put together a website and a political movement that ha at it very core value, 'It's about the Supreme Court Justices".

The movement, this website has been had, and is a spent force. We've been had, it's over, there is no future as we hoped for it to be. It hurts, but that's the truth.

The Judicial Tyranny has just begun.

And if she wasn't a skinny blonde, nobody would have ever heard of her.
