The fires are not in the Central Valley of California. They are south of here on the other side of the Tejon Pass down near Los Angeles area.
The first one was in the San Fernando Valley I think. Then it sounded like there were some arsonist copy cat fires started in other areas down there.
We get fires in the hills near here just before Christmas. The Indians who get called up for firefighting set them to earn their Christmas money. That is not a racist statement. It is a fact.
I live contiguous to a national park. Many of my friends are park rangers (and too doggone liberal) but each year they go to help with the various fires. Even BEFORE they are at the parks. They want to help, of course, but also want to make sure that these things can be as much contained as possible near cities where there is more access to water & more accessibility to the terrain
