Re:
retire A-10s The A10 is a great blend of survivability, speed and, lethality. It's not a new plane but, we would long for it's return, should it be canceled.

Last I heard the A-10's amazing performance in the Iraq war saved it from the scrapheap. I sure hope that's the case. As far as I'm concerned it's the best close air support fighter ever built!

Awesome! Give em hell, girl!

I have met this woman and listened to her speak. She is one hell of a type "A" fighter pilot and as a Korea and Vietnam USAF pilot I would be proud and willing to fly her wing anytime. She's one tough gal.

Amen, brother. I don't care if the hog driver squats to pee. All that matters is that she can put ordnance on target when I want it there.Exactly.

Note to the thread, this is
not the woman featured in the story:
Re: OK, where's the pic of Killer Chick?
She did straiffing runs over downtown Baghdad, April 2003.

However, any thread about female A-10 pilots isn't complete without Killer Chick. Rules, man, rules! :)

"...but during Clinton's reign this would be front page news!"
Well, I can think of two reasons why it would've been news; both Bill and Hil would've LOVED to jump a female pilot, LOL!
As we used to say in Junior High, "Girls Rule, Boys Drool." ;)
Seriously, I'm glad to see this. :)

I salute her and her ability, I know I can't do that. It just scares me to think what would happen if she is shot down and captured. Things can happen to a woman that don't happen to men.
God bless her and Lord protect her.

Curious ... could this be KC? You know Killer Chick ... who was interviewed by ABC's Diane Sawyer in the early stages of the Iraq war in 2003. She subsequently had her Wart Hog riddled by anti-aircraft on a mission near Baghdad and returned to her base making an emergency landing without hydraulics.

The F-22 is supposed to be the fighter aircraft of the future and also is designated to replace the A-10. But the A-10 is being fought for by numerous military advisors who want to keep the aircraft due to the fact that it can "kick ass" with the best of them and is still a preferred aircraft for many Air Force pilots.
