Breaking: Delay Indicted -- And for anyone who thinks the sky is falling..PLEASE go read Mark Levin on this:

"We regret the people of Texas will once again have their taxpayer dollars wasted on Ronnie Earle's pursuit of headlines and political paybacks. Ronnie Earle began this investigation in 2002, after the Democrat Party lost the Texas state legislature to Republicans. For three years and through numerous grand juries, Ronnie Earle has tried to manufacture charges against Republicans involved in winning those elections using arcane statutes never before utilized in a case in the state. This indictment is nothing more than prosecutorial retribution by a partisan Democrat."
EARLE'S LAST FORAY INTO politicized prosecution in 1993 turned into a huge embarrassment when he went after Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), who was then Texas Treasurer. Earle made a series of trumped-up charges, including that the demure Hutchison had physically assaulted an employee. Earle dropped the case during the trial.

Beats me. Wasn't my question. Did you mean to direct that to someone else?

Talking heads on the news shows have been saying that Delay's lawyers explained to Earle in no uncertain terms that were two SEPARATE accounts at the RNC...one for corporate contributions, and one for individual contributions. The was no "exchanging" of money between the two accounts. The corporate funds donated went to the corporate account and those funds were NOT funneled back to Texas. The account for individual contributions was the account used to help fund Republican candidate in various election races, and the use of individual contributions to help candidates is PERFECTLY LEGAL.

If Earle was in fact informed of this, and those two accounts do exist, Earle needs to be investigated for prosecutorial misconduct and lose his license to practice law.

I'd kind of like to see the stats for that. However, there is the issue of Earle bragging that he would take DeLay down. Doesn't sound like a fair prosecution to me.

Well, over his career, this was a one-party state. All Democrat. The Republican takeover didn't even begin until the mid-90s, and we didn't even gain control of the legislature until 2002.

So, he attacked some Rats that he didn't agree with when they were the only game in town. Very impressive.

Folks, this is an easy one. The Dems launched this Indictment to create a bargaining chip against the Indictments the Dems know are coming against certain Louisiana Democratic personalities.

Why would you argue on an irrelevant point?

Either the indictment has merit, or not. Argue that.
