DELAY [Mark R. Levin] Here's my first take on this indictment (I've only read the indictment and nothing more for now): The indictment is three pages in length. Other than a statement that "one or more" of 3 individuals, including Tom DeLay, entered into an illegal conspiracy, I can't find a single sentence tying Tom DeLay to a crime. That is, there's not a single sentence tying DeLay to the contribution. The indictment describes the alleged conduct of two other individuals, but nothing about DeLay. You would think if Ronnie Earle had even a thin reed of testimony linking DeLay to the contribution, it would have been noted in the indictment to justify the grand jury's action. Moreover, not only is there no information about DeLay committing acts in furtherance of a conspiracy, there's no information about DeLay entering into a conspiracy. I honestly believe that unless there's more, this is an egregious abuse of prosecutorial power. It's a disgrace. This is a scam but let's also face the facts that DeLay has not represented the interests of fiscally responsible citizens. Should those of us disgusted by the republican party spending spree have to swallow DeLay and company from fear of liberals taking over?

So in your mind because you don't agree with or like Delay, you think it is okay to use a bogus indictment to remove him? Just shows you're full of it. If you don't agree with a politician, vote them out of office. The kind of BS that Ronnie Earl is pulling is only approved of by extremists on both sides.

And I hope the Republican leadership refuses to remove him from his house position until the charges have been proven--which is highly unlikely.

I'm sure the GOP will fight as vigorously for Delay as they did for Michael Brown.

So far, nothing of substance has emerged. All we know is that Tom DeLay personally knows people who may have done something illegal.

Which leads me to ask, why weren't 300 million more indictments handed down today?

What part of, this is a scam, do you not understand? Let's face it, republicans would do the same thing to one of their opponents in a heart beat. It's called politics. It's sleazey and cheap but that's the way they play out. It's never the common good only revenge and retribution.

But, I see too many people here circling the wagons around a guy that has not represented the interests of conservative thinking and that is, limited government.

The indictment is as bogus as a $3 bill.

I remember analyzing the known evidence about 6 months ago where I derived the same bogus conclusion.

Look South to LA. The Landreau family is one that came immediately to mind when I heard about this. This is a warning not to dig too deeply into where the deposits of decades of federal monies are located.

Then we have Corzine in New Jersey and some of his little loans and donations.

We've read the indictment. Until we get some "meat" he IS innocent and we should treat him as such and attack these leftist political opportunists.

Of course, this could have been easily avoided had the Republican Texas legislature removed the indictment jurisidiction over state officials from Democrat Earle to the Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott. But the GOP always hesitates. And he who hesitates in politics is lost.
