wasn't this movie called, CLOWN? i remember seeing it at school... it was silent... but no dialogue was necessary... it's been about 35 years for me...

That's the title.
I was wrong though....it was Spain and not France.
[like a 5 year old could've told the difference]
But I do hope I never see it again...I couldn't take it...:))
