1:30 p.m. Dulac, Grand Caillou inundated with floodwater
Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said the Grand Caillou levee has breached somewhere near the Combon bridge on La. 57. Choppers are in the area to help with repairs. "I'm in Dulac right now and it's apparently ready to go under," he said. Schoolbuses have been sent to the area to help with evacuation.

Earlier, Parish President Don Schwab ordered a mandatory evacuation of residents living south of the Bobtown Bridge on Hwy. 57 in Dulac. Water has topped the levee and everybody is ordered to leave, he said.

In Montegut, crews have been working since this morning to repair a weakened patch of the levee south of town since this morning. Officials are concerned portions of east Houma also could be vulnerable to flooding.

Map of Dulac, Houma and the Terrebone Parish area.

Dulac is at 3 feet above sea level. Houma 10-15 feet tops in most places. This is not good.
