Cut Arnie some slack. That isn't what he is saying.
Parental notification and involvement in a minor's pregnancy increases the likelihood that there will be no abortion. It is one step in the right direction.
I think they probably understood that, but couldn't resist carping . . .
It is one step in the right direction.
Yep. One small step forward . . .
Better than one backward step.
That's how I read it too. I mean, my daughter (6 yrs old) has called me pretty much every day since school started, just to let me know that once again, her heart hurts, her stomach hurts, her head hurts... :)
I fell for it the first couple of times, but now the school and I agree, she needs to stay at school.
So if they can inform me about just having my little girl stop in and ask to be sent home, surely they can inform the parents that your daughter is in major league trouble and needs major league help.
Exactly, it's a step in the right direction and it is incredibly offensive for someone to take someone else's child and make such a monumental decision without involving the parent. These liberals think they are better at making decisions for our children. If someone advised my child, and took my child to have an abortion, that person would deserve whatever they got. That's my opinion. This isn't socialist China or communist Russia. The state isn't all powerful and these people need to stop meddling in our lives.
It gives the parents the ability to suggest adoption, or even the parents raising the kid for the daughter
You're right. This is one law that the vast majority of the country endorses. The only opponents are hardcore feminazis. And that is because they don't think children belong to a family. I've had people who were rabidly pro-abort tell me they would support a parental notification, so long as the potential law had a judicial bypass option.
