A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ Billie, Dutchess, DollyCali, Mama_Bear ~

ood morning, FRiends.   I have often wished I had a *generic* table to post on days when I'm short of time,   or low on creativity, and can't think of a theme or can't find the right graphics when I *have* a theme.   So, here it is - I made one - and you will probably see it again 'cause it just says WELCOME!

I'm calling it my "Ain't Got No Theme"  or  "Ain't Got No Graphics" table.  When you see it, you will know it's one or the other - or BOTH!   Do hope you'll stop in, have a cup of coffee, share your thoughts, pick a theme, post a picture, offer a suggestion for a future theme, offer to WRITE a future thread, or just wave as you drive by. :)

HOWEVER...... the ever resourceful Miss Maggie Malone, aka LadyX, not long ago suggested a theme for *whenever* it might come in handy, and I'm taking advantage of it today.  (See? A theme!)   Ain't got no graphics, though.  (OK, maybe one.) Ready to play?

*I*, of course, have never had any many.   : )

It might have something to do with it. Putting it on your desktop is like putting it on the whole computer, I think! Your downloads folder is inside some other program, I guess, but it looks like if it doesn't ask you *where* to install it, it wouldn't matter *where* you park it as a download.

Tried everything, nada. Even clicked 'Run' instead downloading it to a folder, re-booted.....nothing. The heck with it!

LOL!!!...still ready for a ride???? Don't know if you saw this yesterday (I cheated and went to billie's table thread to format it :o)

Ohhhhhh.....I'm sorry. I did see it and could have sworn I replied. Guess that's when I was posting your 'congrats' for your first solo.

I love that graphic!

Wolfie would rather that *you* be in the plane too.

Maybe wolfie will just claim the plane is his. LOL

That's so true,Billie.
We lived outside civilization, not on a farm, to facilitate Daddy's career as a Consulting Engineer, with all his needed equipment.
He practiced all over the state, and with 1,000 acres (later sold down to 640), we were able to have all kinds of 'pets' - some of whom sacrificed themselves for Sunday dinners.
A dog, cats, milk cow, horses, chickens, Muscovy ducks, two turkeys who had 17 little ones - then a goat for only a brief time - she butted Daddy from behind and was traded that day for some bantam chickens..:))

We let a friend - a major cattle raiser - use the rest of the land to graze his herds.
(Mom had taught school after college.)

I am really bummed out - wrote out a long new reply and couldn't get it to Preview. Kept getting 'cannot show this page.'

Just as I decided to copy my Reply to preserve it until FR straightened out, it vanished completely..:((
Am too tired to recreate it, I'm afraid, and have to initialize on the cycler in a little while. Wll continue to make replies for awhile, though.

Cheating a little here, making tuna salad (with side stuff; tomato chunks, hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, pickles, etc.) for supper rather than a 5-course meal..:))

ROFL!!!!!!!

We cheated even moreso - breakfast for dinner! Blueberry pancakes, bacon and scrapple.......and since hubby didn't need as many blueberries as I set aside for the pancakes, I made some blueberry syrup while I was cooking the bacon and scrapple :) Water, sugar, blueberries, easy as pie !!!!!

i have my resolution at 1152 X 864 & color at 32 Highest resolution.

Is that good or bad for what we do?

I noted (briefly) what you wrote on doing posts/size. Will further digest & DO KNOW that it will go into the big Table/HTML file that I have compiled

Must be some kind of WII gremlin lurking on FR. Described earlier hitting Preview of along Reply I'd written, and it kept saying "cannot display page."
Just as I was going to copy it to save it for later, it vanished - totally wiped it out, and I'm just too tired to recreate it.
Need to leave shortly for the night, Dolly.

I went and looked at this at home at the two computers I have at home -- a downstairs lap top and an upstairs computer. And both this thread and my screenshot are charcoal grey on both.

Argh!!! I declare myself officially stymied!

Thank you, EMB - I haven't seen you for awhile, but it could be you've posted these great military photos on the threads and I've just missed them.

Good to see them again, and you of course! :)

Oh, I hate when that happens - it's so frustrating, and it would be so nice if we could recall these posting comments (and mail ones, too) when something like that happens. I've gotten almost through answering a post or a mail (a LONG answer, of course) and poof! it's gone - and like you, cannot even think of recreating it.

I'm sorry. :(
