Please democrats, I urge you to listen to Bill Clinton, and run your campaigns on raising taxes. The government simply isn't taking away enough money from the hard working American people.

Clinton: Bush should raise taxes to pay for recoveryOnly those taxes that enhance revenue should be raised. The ones that interfere with revenue, such as our current top income tax rate, should be lowered. Fortunately, if Bush gets serious about budget cuts (when ice hockey is played in hell, maybe), we won't need to worry about raising taxes. Maybe.

I fully agree. I honestly think the democrats should run on tax increases. They should be honest and say that they want to raise taxes.

I agree completely, Bill. And Hillary should make it a centerpiece of her campaign.

Clinton: Bush should raise taxes to pay for recovery A good question for Clinton would be: Is there ever a time or reason not to raise taxes?

I have to mention that I saw a poll about this in a Connecticut newspaper's web site, and so far, 80 percent of respondents did NOT want to raise taxes. I couldn't believe my eyes, this result coming out of this blue state. HAhahaha!

The liberal tax-sucking machine is insatiable. Quick, somebody add up all the things rats'd like us to pay for, whether express or implied. I'll bet it exceeds the total income of every man, woman, child -- and corporation -- in the country.
That's the little reminder the GOP should be hitting voters with hard in '06 and '08.

Never in the history of our republic have we ever financed a conflict, military conflict, by borrowing money from somewhere else
I would have expected a Rhodes Scholar to come up with a better argument than this one. He's banking on the ignorance of the average American to make a big deal of this.
In the larger scope of history, very few wars have been conducted without someone having to borrow from someone else. If borrowing to conduct a war were such a huge problem then virtually all of Europe and most of the rest of the world would already be owned by someone else.

Liberal solution to any problem:1. Throw money at problem(keeping out a percentage for operating expenses like buying votes etc.) 2. Raise taxes

Yeah that's the solution.... The Feds have plenty of money. Giving them more will not fix this.. They have to be responsible on their spending. It does not matter how much money you give to the government.. They will always find away to spend it.

I have a better idea. Clinton can drop his pants, sell tickets, and donate the money to charity.

Clinton: Bush should raise taxes to pay for recoveryTypical politician/lawyer/beancounter response (no insult intended for anyone except politicians). In reality, all a politician can do to truly increase their part of an economic engine is to set the tax (read commission) rate that encourages optimism among consumers and investors (and nurtures economic growth).
Simply raising taxes is a false linear concept that doesn't do anything but suck more cash out of the economy without regard to the effect such an action may have on the engine that pays those taxes. I would say it is random in its effect, but consumers and investors interpret this kind of randomness as stupidity and their confidence is reduced accordingly.
