``In Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills and all these places, they do more meth, they do more Ecstasy and they do more acid than all the schools in the city of Detroit put together,'' Kilpatrick said Thursday during the first of three planned debates with challenger Freman Hendrix. I'd love to see the hard evidence backing up this assertion.

Gee, you mean Gov. Granola's "cool city" plan for Detroit isn't working.
I was hoping that Granola's effort to build taxpayer subsidized couscous stands would make Detroit the couscous capital of the Midwest. After all, nearly every successful city builds wealth via couscous stands paid for by taxpayers. Guess that $100 million transfer of wealth from the suburbs to Detroit just ain't working.
I'm sure that Granola, Kwame and their Marxist criminal class are making millions, though.

well of course other cities have higher meth, x, and acid rates, cuz detroit is so addicted to coke, crack, heroine and weed, that they haven't bothered to try any of those other drugs.

The only time I will dare venture into Detroit is to go to the Detroit Fox for their "Rocket's Christmas Spectacular" as a friend plays the Mighty Wurlitzer before the show. Other than that the only semi-safe way to pass through Detroit is at 80 MPH with the windows closed, doors locked.
To the post at hand, I read it twice but did not see where the Mayor's comments were factually wrong. Insensitive yes but grow up! If there are schools with high drug use the administrators need to focus on the problem and not on someone shining a light on the problem regardless of the Mayor's motives. Yes the Mayor is a butt head and Detroit continues to deteriorate under the current administration. Like the school administrators he needs to focus on his problems and stop the finger pointing.

I heard Grosse Pointe is beautiful too. Is that where all the auto executives stay?
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
There are 5 Grosse Points. Auto executives live in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, all the Grosse Points and several other upscale areas.
I've lived in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills and Grosse Point Shores and liked the 'Shores' best.

What is amazing about this article is the complete absence of the fact that the esteemed mayor was just caught in a lie of testifying under oath that he had no relationship with one of his underlings and now text messages at the time in question show that they both lied.
Now it goes without saying that a Pubbie would be fending off a barrage of outraged liberal news outlets under the same circumstances. This story plays a selective amnesia approach that, for a light news consumer, completely hides the credibility issues of the mayor.
