Why is this even news?
And why do they think anyone even cares if they want to starve themselves. What, are we supposed to beg them to eat? It reminds me of children throwing a temper tantrum. They aren't hurting anyone but themselves. The only one feeling their hunger pains is themselves. What is starving themselves supposed to accomplish? I'm series. They ought to respect their right to starve to death and pull the plug. Here we are force feeding those people to keep them from starving and we deliberately starved a young helpless woman in our country! Crazy!
There's nothing that smells nicer than a nice pork roast! And the fact that Islam forbids this shouldn't bother them. After all,their comrades who were responsible for 9/11 were "entertained" by hookers the night before.My guess is that their great "prophet" disapproves of hookers far more vigorously that he does of eating pork.
What's the problem? If they want to starve themselves, let them starve! I am sure there's more than one way to get to those 72 virgins!!
I wouldn't waste an ounce of effort to force one of these animals to perform a simple function necessary to sustain life. If they choose to kill themselves then to hell with the whole sorry lot.

I don't mind one bit my tax dollars spent to keep the scum in prison.
These are not run of the mill combatants taken off the battlefield. These are people they are bottling up for a specific set of reasons. Either they know something and aren't telling, or they are known to be dangerous. Look at how many were released and never sent to Gitmo.
I say, keep them alive long past their natural age with artificial means. Put in a feeding tube, and give them liquified pork rinds each meal, every day, nothing else. No more Koran and prayer mats. Cut off their eyelids, keep them in brightly lit rooms 24x7, and play loud music.
These particular people worship death. I say, deny them the one thing they desire more than anything else. The fact that they are denied their freedom is just icing on the cake.
Actually, I was thinking you go to the upwind side of the compound where these 'perps are being held and fry up a couple of pounds of lean bacon. There is nothing like the smell of bacon cooking to make you hungry.........

Well if they want a hunger strike. Send the food to the Gulf states. If they in gittmo don't want it , we have some place to send such meals as lemon pepper chicken and want it.

I think it's time for the US forces at Gitmo to have a hog roast. Be sure the prisoners are down wind of that delicious tender pork slowly cooking on s spit slathered with BBQ sauce...maybe cook up some ribs too. No man could resist that come to dinner smell. As an added act of kindness offer the prisoners free beer and entertainment by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Who could call that torture? Teddy Kennedy himself would enjoy that.
