More from the link....

"One thing that truly troubled me about my visit to Louisiana was the level of the military presence there. I imagined before that if the military had to be used in a CONUS (Continental US) operations that they would be there to help the citizens: Clothe them, feed them, shelter them, and protect them. But what I saw was a city that is occupied. I saw soldiers walking around in patrols of 7 with their weapons slung on their backs. I wanted to ask one of them what it would take for one of them to shoot me. Sand bags were removed from private property to make machine gun nests.

The vast majority of people who were looting in New Orleans were doing so to feed their families or to get resources to get their families out of there. If I had a store with an inventory of insured belongings, and a tragedy happened, I would fling my doors open and tell everyone to take what they need: it is only stuff. When our fellow citizens are told to "shoot to kill" other fellow citizens because they want to stay alive, that is military and governmental fascism gone out of control. What I saw today in Algiers lifted up my spirits, but what I also saw today in Algiers frightened me terribly. "

Thanks. I refuse to give Moore a hit on his website. I hope she keeps talking. Her case just went down the toilet.

Would $5 be too much?

The only thing it would take for me is an assurance that I wouldnt be prosecuted.

I can see seven National Guardsmen all simultaneously thinking, "Please, lady, make my day..."

Seriously, if this doesn't show that she is anti-military as well as anti-American and anti-war, I don't know what does. She can go to New Orleans for an hour and then leave for a comfortable hotel. These brave men and women are patrolling filthy streets in stifling heat and humidity, and all she can do is question whether what it would take for them to shoot her? As if they are so unprofessional that they would just gun her down for fun?

This woman is an insult to just about every value that has ever mattered in this country. But the good thing is, she doesn't know when to shut up. And marginalizes herself more and more with each passing day.

I'm sure that more than a few of them would shoot her for free.

Oh, no. Now I find myself (or should I use a "Sheehanism" and say Iself) thinking like Cindy. I, too, was wondering what it would take for one of the soldiers to shoot her.

Ya might as well fling your legs open, too, babe, because a lot of folks define their "needs" quite broadly. And your face can be easily bagged.

Somebody asked if this was a joke, someone else asked it it was a full moon. Someone must make this stuff up.

ROTF.

"What I saw today in Algiers lifted up my spirits, but what I also saw today in Algiers frightened me terribly. "

The fact that you safely toured Algiers is a testament to the military. Doubtful that would have happened prior to Katrina.

"The vast majority of people who were looting in New Orleans were doing so to feed their families or to get resources to get their families out of there"

BS. I know for a fact the Saks 5th Ave. was picked clean. Not even our back-up tapes were left in the store.

Careful, Cindy. Be careful what you ask for, you might not like the answer.

Considering how she is dissing the military, such an opportunity for a soldier to end her misery could be very tempting.

Mother Sheehan is beyond pitiful. Maybe she could lend a helping hand to Howie Dean?
