It's around $18,000.00 to $20,000.00 before taxes. Now add food stamps, disability, $2,500 tax credit per child and that woman now will have over $30,000.00 tax free to live on. VERY doable.

What about food stamps and WIC vouchers? Don't forget these single Moms with bastard children also get to claim "Head of Household" and get a greater standard deduction than responsible working people who pay for this.
$1,200 a month in federal Section 8! Wow!
