Is it supposed to be empowering to be allowed to decide to kill or not to kill your own baby?

I remember reading a column by someone who was one of the first people to use RU-486, the abortion pill(s).

She said she felt empowered. She was so "up" about using RU-486, that it seemed her motto should be....
"I got my kicks
on RU-486."
