It's Thursday at the Finest... Time for another tell it like it is John's 2cents!!!! ENJOY!!!!!
Oh, my goodness, this isn't good for the Democrats. What are they going to do now? Things aren't as bad as they first thought. This means trouble for them.... and I love it! LOL!
Good article, John. Thanks for the ping, dutchess. :-)
"'I hear you, the rest of the world hears you and Hurricane Katrina will hear from all of us soon!'
Priceless!
Good morning every one.
After living more than 80 years, I know that any claim that offers an effortless way to develop a lean, well-conditioned body is a hoax. So is any sermon title that promises an easy way to become like Christ. Author Brennan Manning tells of an alcoholic who asked his minister to pray over him to be delivered from his drinking problem. He thought this would be a quick and easy way to overcome his addiction. Recognizing his motive in asking for prayer, the minister replied, "I've got a better idea. Go to Alcoholics Anonymous." He counseled the man to follow the program diligently and read his Bible daily. "In other words," the minister concluded, "do the hard work." Do the hard workthat's what Paul was saying to Timothy when he told him how he should order his life so he could teach believers how they should live. Notice the action verbs: "Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life" (1 Timothy 6:11-12). Just as there is no easy path to being delivered from alcoholism, so too, there is no effort-free route to Christlikeness. If we really want to become like Jesus, we must keep on doing the hard work. Herb Vander Lugt
This is my constant longing and prayer; Gladly I'll forfeit all of earth's treasures, Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear Chisholm Conversion is the miracle of a moment; becoming like Christ is the work of a lifetime.

Awesome as usual!!!
Can't you just hear the Dems strategy session?
"Not enough poor black people died dammit! What are we gonna do now?!"
Beautiful.........just BEAUTIFUL!
While digesting your description of the disaster Katrina was and is, and the disaster the liberals (always) are, I felt a tap on my shoulder!!
T'was made by a greatly respected persona from Days Gone By, John, with a message for you and The Finest.
I thus shall defer, and now turn the platform over to this fellow to relate his thoughts on this utterly revoltin' development.
"Hey there, Johnny boy - - know how you feel, all riled up by the scene down there...ignoramuses spoutin' right and left ('specially from the left!).
I happen to know a lot about the affected area, spendin' considerable time up and down the Mighty Mississippi, and even wrote a book about it -
Reminds me of when they were spewin' all over that I was dead -
I tell you, that rocked me, and I had to do a reality check...concluded "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."
Well, son, that's *almost* what I said; a little altered by liberals of my day - - here's the God's truth of the whole matter, the way I scrawled it:
You know I always had a few things to say (chuckle, chuckle), and this fellow
and I agreed about this:
"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
- Pudd'nhead Wilson's Calendar"
"Well, son, guess you agree things haven't changed a bit, and I say it's up to you to carry on with cogent mutterings..:))"
"Turnin' you back over to LadyX, with one more thought: "That's just my 2 cents, JH2..:))"
Wow, Dear John - - you brought words from A True Master of them!
Yep, the Dem Dogs still are loaded with fleas, and still scratch us to death dealin' with 'em....
