Cindy Delivers Katrina Aid To Moslem Radical

The latest update from Michael Moore's website, re the newly arrived in Louisiana, Cindy Sheehan:

A Day in Algiers

From Jason:

I am just heading back now from our convoy into New Orleans today. Cindy Sheehan accompanied us on our trip and helped us deliver goods to Malik Rahim in Algiers.

Cindy was wonderful and made everyone who came in contact with here feel special. Algiers is a community that has been devastated... not by Katrina, but by the amount of neglect that the people there have received. Algiers used to be a community of 75,000 people just 2 weeks ago. Now it has only about 3,000 people left.

We unloaded about 9 cars of goods and are now on our way back to camp.

Cindy was writing a bunch of notes for her blog so check it out stay tuned for that.

As discussed elsewhere, the Cindy Sheehan's compadres, the Veterans For Peace, have been helping themselves to Red Cross food and other supplies.

So the supplies they brag about having delivered to former Black Panther and now Moslem radical, Malik Rahim, were almost certainly pilfered from the Red Cross.

"There are gangs of white vigilantes near here riding around in pickup
trucks, all of them armed, and any young Black they see who they figure
doesn't belong in their community, they shoot him." -- Malik Rahim

Rahim, who is also a Rastafarian and Green Party candidate, claims to have set up his own medical center and supply distribution center.

The image “http://www.itsabouttimebpp.com/Chapter_History/images/New_Orleans/Malik_Rahim-GreenParty.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

This is at least the second delivery the VFP have made to Rahim, according to Moore's site.

Reports there also mention Rahim has been making deliveries of his own -- to the local Mosque.

I guess it shouldn't be a surprise, considering her track record:

LOL. I think Cindys reality check bounced a loooong time ago.
How could anyone take these fruit cakes seriously? I can't help but laugh at these bozos.

That picture is actually from yesterday. The fellow beside Mother Sheehan is her new constant companion, the gay Marine peace activist pugilist, Jeff Key.

New Black Panther Party for Self Defense Sends Elite Aid/Rescue Team to New Orleans Disaster

******

Workers World Dec. 17, 1998: Malik Rahim

APPEAL FOR SOLIDARITY
Angola 2 fight La. prison hell

Excerpts from a talk by Malik Rahim at the Communist Manifesto conference Dec. 5.

I'm here on behalf of two revolutionary freedom fighters that have spent the last 26 years in solitary confinement in Angola, a state prison in Louisiana. I met these freedom fighters as a political prisoner in 1970. I was in a shoot-out with the police in New Orleans as a member of the Black Panther Party.

While incarcerated, the prison administration, in the hope of killing all of us, mixed what they called Black gangsters with revolutionaries, in the hopes that we would cancel each other out.

But instead many of them joined the party and organized the first prison branch of the Black Panthers. Four of the people that were instrumental in forming the Angola branch were Albert Woodfox, Herman Wallace, Gilbert Montague and Roy King Wilsonson.

Feel free to edit this for your own purpose, excuse the repetition…but want to make sure not to tie-up people-power by having Malik and crew repeat info when there time is so valuable for saving lives…

UPDATE ON MALIK RAHIM’S WORK within New Orleans–Aljeers Section-Friday, September 09, 2005 midday:

Dry land area, face no immediate evacuation–no electricity…curfew and dark as of 6:30 pm…

They have one medical doctor on the way and hope that a medical system will soon be set-up…then they will probably need others.

THEY STILL NEED A GENERATOR and cell phones and will need more volunteers! (check with Covington Vets for Peace):
www.VFPRoadTrips.org Covington–Talk with Dennis
www.vfproadtrips.org/real.htm

Right now we can use your dollars, trained volunteers & specific donations (This list will change!):

We Do NOT need clothes at this time
Water
Canned Goods
Baby Supplies - Baby Food Formula, diapers #4, #5, Wipes, Pedialyte
Hygene Supplies

Veterans for Peace set up in Covington, LA (see Dennis with/for other needs)

You can find out about this work through the Vets for Peace and via San francisco Bay Review (see below ph. #s):

They will collect any goods (I think checks too?)and the GENERATOR/PHONES: THROUGH VETS FOR PEACE:

MALIK RAHIM NEEDS YOUR HELP INSIDE NEW ORLEANS!!

SUPPORT A WELL-KNOWN AND BELOVED NEW ORLEANS AREA
LEADER WHO IS WORKING WITH THE MOST INFIRM WHO ARE
STILL INSIDE NEW ORLEANS.

MALIK RAHIM and his volunteers are WITNESSING the
ongoing lack of help–if not deliberate blocking–of
all volunteers and supplies by “AUTHORITIES”.

I AM QUITE SURE THAT MALIK WILL BE A WITNESS
NATIONALLY AND GLOBALLY–SOON–AND FOR YEARS TO COME
ABOUT THIS TRAGEDY! (HE IS ALSO AN
ABOLITIONIST–AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY AND A LOVER OF
PEACE AND COOPERATION)

Malik Rahim, New Orleans Community Organizer, is
working out of his New Orleans home to help the sick
and infirm, the hungry and homeless…

First of all, they need a generator for his nearby
Mosque–which has no lights, no generator–so they can
work out of a larger space. Then, they will need other
basic supplies and medical help as well!

You can read his article here…
www.sfbayview.com/083105/thisiscriminal083105.shtm…

(and/or just google: “This is criminal”–his powerful
article, Malik Rahim, Malik Rahim New Orleans)

You can call him or a volunteer after 7:30 central
Best to contact Vets or SF Bay Review now..
but for most important needs to contact them, please go ahead– but be patient as they only have two-three main people and are so busy helping people that sometimes they will have to get back to you or you will be accidently cut-off…

(There is now curfew there at 6:30 PM central
time)–Keep trying if you can’t get through at first
and they only have a few volunteers so they may not be
able to answer you right away:
1 504 368-6897 (new orleans)

If you want to talk with people who have known him a
longtime, call San Francisco Bay Review:
1 415 671-0789

I just talked with the folk who are helping Malik
again today, September 06, 2005 (Tuesday)…they are
still in desperate need for help. They are most
committed to sticking it out and helping those who are
in the area.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if after the immediate
needs settle down, Malik becomes a humble hero and
gets on a soapbox about the truly criminal activities
of the USA toward the people of New Orleans.

He is an active member of the Green Party and has
former background in The Black Panthers and says so
upfront–an organization often misunderstood by much
of White America…At any rate, Malik is a man of
goodwill…The people of San Fransisco Bay View
(newspaper) say “he wouldn’t hurt a flea except to
give you a big bear hug!”

Right now, Malik simply wants to help and receive help
for his fellows who are suffering and to support his
unique place as a witness of present events WITHIN NEW
ORLEANS. Evidently volunteers are trying to get to him
to help him but are being turned away without being
allowed in nor their supplies…

Cindy Sheehan and Veterans for Peace. From Michael Moore: “Join with me in bypassing the colossally inept and incompetent Bush administration and get help DIRECTLY to the people of the New Orleans area - right now. Many don’t know who to trust. I have a way, though, for each and every one of us to do something that can affect people’s lives TODAY. I’ve been working with a group that, I guarantee you, will get direct aid to the people who need it most. Cindy Sheehan, the brave woman who dared to challenge Mr. Bush at his summer home has joined The Veterans for Peace set up camp in Covington, Louisiana, on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. They are accepting materials and personally distributing them to those in need and are going to be delivering much-needed supplies.” Needed now: paper plates, paper towels, toilet paper, baby diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, Pedialyte, baby items in general, powder, lotion, handy wipes, sterile gloves, electrolytes, LARGE cans of veggies, school supplies, and anything else to lift people’s spirits. Visit VFPRoadTrips.org for instructions on shipping these things, or driving them there yourself.

GREEN NEWS

HURRICANE KATRINA Louisiana Greens, especially in New Orleans, struggled to account for their members and bring relief to devastated areas in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Greens expressed dismay and anger at the failure of the federal government (especially President Bush), FEMA, and the National Guard to heed warnings of an impending disaster or provide rescue and aid, especially to New Orleans poor and majority African American residents. Greens noted the connection between increasingly destructive hurricanes and rising ocean temperatures (a result of global warming), and committed themselves to helping rebuild New Orleans according to sustainable and ecological principles. (A few weeks before the hurricane, the Green Party of Louisiana became the state's newest qualified political party; more below.) Leenie Halbert and Andrea Garland (both from New Orleans) and Romi Elnagar (Baton Rouge) kept Greens across the US informed about those party members who evacuated and those who stayed in New Orleans. Malik Rahim, Mike Howell, and others have resisted forced evacuation, stayed in New Orleans, and continued to help neighbors in need. Rahim, a Black Panthers veteran and Green who recently ran for New Orleans City Council, stayed at his home in the Algiers neighborhood (one of the few areas not flooded) and did several radio interviews (listen to one at

Mississippi: Gwen Wages gwen.wages@gmail.com, Mississippi Green and national co-chair of the Green Party, writes "The Green Party of Lee County (MS) is in NE MS and is stable. We are discussing being the Green Clearing house for information and humanitarian aid. We have a bank account, website, gasoline, even offers of homes (from Greens) for the displaced from around the US. We can mobilize readily being in the center, 5 hours to 1 day drive from New Orleans, and MS, AL , and Fl coast. We also know a few back roads [that] FEMA and other non locals seem to be ignoring...." http://www.greenpartyms.org

On September 4, the Peace Action Committee approved the following statement, in response to President Bush's refusal of aid from some nations: "The Green Party Peace Action Committe (GPAX) urges the Bush Administration to accept all offers of hurricane relief and aid, from all foreign countries including Cuba and Venezuela. Green Party members are urged to contact their elected officials and urge them to support this broad approach to assisting those in need during this critical time."

I think that's Cindy Sheehan's attorney, Buddy Spell (creator of "The Peace Train" & Louisiana Activist Network).

http://www.newdemocracyrising.com/

As organizers of the Louisiana Action Network, Buddy and Annie have been acting as their own lawyers and law enforcement liaisons for years.

Buddy started out his law practice in 1989, representing clients like Halliburton, Brown and Root. In 1993 he switched to criminal law and finds that he likes his new clients better. For one thing, they are human clients, not corporate. For another thing, he gets to represent some innocent clients these days, whereas with corporate clients, “that was never a possibility!” 1996 he became law partners with his spouse Annie.

Attorney and activist Annie Spell, President of Covington NAACP, one of the country's few white NAACP branch presidents.

Their history in civil rights issues includes work with their Franklinton-based law firm Spell & Spell, which specializes in civil rights issues. 'Fifty percent of my cases are civil rights cases because they involve black defendants in a racist system,' Buddy Spell says.

******

BTW, in case you didn't notice they are also LIARS...

Hurricance Relief from Camp Casey, Crawford Supporters to Camp Casey Covington, LA!

The “White Rose” Bus of the Veterans For Peace Chapter 116 of Mendocino County, which drove Cindy into and out of Crawford left the Bring Them Home Now Tour on Thursday to bring direct relief to the community of Covington, LA. Working with Annie and Buddy Spell, Alex and Ella and other supporters from Camp Casey, Crawford, they were able to get through and set up Camp Casey Covington in Reverend Peter Atkins Park. Yesturday they moved into the Covington Pine View Middle School on 28th Street.

Camp Casey Covington has been providing food and medical support. The satellite connection via the White Rose has been the only communications so far into and out of the area.

The Spells are Cindy's lawyers, as you know. They are also great pals with Andrea Garland (of "they dynamited the levees" fame) and Ward ("I'm a Vietnam Combat Vet" --not) Reilly.

You can tell a lot about a person by their friends.

More about Malik and his pals from The Workers World:

Grassroots relief highlights gov’t negligence
By John Catalinotto
Published Sep 6, 2005 12:20 AM

Grassroots initiatives

The grassroots support has been quicker and often better organized than that of the Red Cross, not to speak of FEMA. Gloria Rubac of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty told Workers World that there has been an outpouring of support from the Houston population, especially from the Black community. “There is a real connection between Houston, especially the Frenchtown neighborhood, and southern Louisiana, for both Black and white people, through language and culture,” she said. “There are many volunteers, so many that the Red Cross has been turning them away.”

Rubac said that SHAPE, which stands for Self-Help for African People through Education and has been a center of political activity in the Black community since 1969, has been “a center of organization” in Houston. “Other groups bring in all sorts of aid to the SHAPE Community Cen ter, where it is sorted for babies, adults, whatever. These are contributions from poor working class people in Hous ton contributing what they can. People with homes are taking families into their home.

“SHAPE has also been keeping track of who comes in from Louisiana and connecting people with others they know. The Red Cross wasn’t doing this until Sept. 5, so the community group did,” Rubac said.

“We heard that someone in New Orleans commandeered a bus and filled it with people trying to evacuate the city. It ran out of gas and got stuck. At the same time, the New Black Panther Party of Hous ton took three buses intending to pick people up from New Orleans. They wound up rescuing those from the bus that was stuck and taking them to Bossier City, La., near Shreveport.”

In another development, the anti-war movement is helping survivors of Hurri cane Katrina. A delegation from Camp Casey in Crawford, Texas—named after a GI killed in Iraq—set up camp in Cov ing ton, La., across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, to help the people forced to flee the Gulf Coast. The “White Rose” bus of the Veterans for Peace, Chapter 116, set up Camp Casey Covington, which is now providing food and medical support at the Covington Pine View Middle School on 28th Street.

The Camp Casey group has already made deliveries of water to the Red Cross and has been providing communications via its satellite connection. An e-mail from Dennis Kyne says they set up a distribution line that delivered tons of food and supplies in the first two days. Other Vet erans for Peace groups are sending truckloads of goods into the area. The only way to reach Camp Casey Covington right now is through Gordon Soderberg at his e-mail address: gordonsoderberg@mac.com.

Expanding the struggle

Along with bringing direct relief, progressive organizations have expanded the struggle to demand more aid from the government. A Camp Casey in downtown Detroit gave the microphone to someone who had just come from New Orleans to stay with family members. When the group then joined the Labor Day parade, the hurricane survivor carried a sign calling for the Cuban doctors to be allowed to help the displaced Gulf Coast population, reports Cheryl LaBash. “We hung a banner between streetlight poles that said, ‘Bush Lies—New Orleans Dies—Money for Our Cities, Not for War.’”

A number of organizations have called for coordinated national demonstrations on Sept. 12, preferably at federal buildings, to demand:

* Immediate relief—food, medicine, water, clothing and emergency shelter for the people of the region.

* Extended unemployment benefits for all who have lost jobs, and a massive jobs and housing program for the near future.

* Money for hurricane relief, not war!

* End the military occupation of New Orleans! People trying to feed their families are not looters!

* An independent international investigation of the criminal negligence that caused this disaster.

Initiating endorsers include the Million Worker March Movement; Troops Out Now Coalition; Saladin Muhammad, Black Workers For Justice; Harlem Tenants Council; Chris Silvera, Chair, Team sters National Black Caucus; Malik Rahim, Greencross, New Orleans; Inter national Action Center; Cuba Solidarity New York; Rev. Lucius Walker, Pastors for Peace; Rev. Luis Barrios, Iglesia San Romero de Las Américas; and local leaders and activists from around the country. Protests are already planned in all the large cities and in over 100 areas of the U.S.

In other words, Malik Rahim is using STOLEN Red Cross supplies for his own group, the Green Cross, to prove to the world how incompetent the Red Cross is.
