Rush nailed this today and Roberts ran rings around the leftists. If they are reduced to bringing up Vietnam in a Supreme Court confirmation hearing, they must be desperate!

My guess? The DemocRATs are aware that they are being embarrassed by the hearings and they will give it one more day, and then fade into the mists. No way will they carry this hearing through the weekend.

I just hope Bush nominates a conservative who is as "quick on their feet" as Roberts is.

Thanks for the ping. It was astonishing to watch today. Not a single reference back to notes. He is brilliant.

Did anyone hear that dopey woman who called in during the last hour of the show? Talk about a pointy head "intellectual".

If Biden and Ted had any idea of just how OUTCLASSED they are by Mr Roberts, they wouldn't open their mouths.
He is letting them look SO STUPID.

"Conventional wisdom" seems to be centering on Priscilla Owen. She's probably smart enough to hold her own, and the RATs will have to be careful lest they look like that are beating up on a woman.
Such a hearing would be different than this one.

Leahy would attempt to use the court system to relieve the POTUS as Commander -In-Chief. Not only does it bastardize the intent of the Constitution, but it is totally shortsighted. The GOP could presumably do that to a Democrat as well. Leahy is pathetically under qualified to hold his current position.

Between Biden and Tubby we have at least one count of plagarism, one count of cheating on a college exam, one count of vehicular manslaughter and that's just what we know about. By what standard do they think they are remotely qualified to determine who should be a Supreme Court justice?!

I noticed that right after Bush's important press conference with the Iraq President that Ted Kennedy was immediately available for a one-on-one CNN interview...while the hearings were still proceeding. Of course, he had to wait a few moments so Wolfie could recap the press-conference..."Bush takes full responsibility for Katrina." Not one other word was spoken on the relevant issues dealing with Iraq. Such sorry people.

Roberts appears to easily sidestep the I.E.D.'s (Internal Enemies Devices).
He does it with half his brain tied behind his back. :) Lookin' good thus far.
Thanks for posting.
