I guess hunting is a legitimate reason, but it has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment. The 2nd Amendment is there to ensure that people can protect themselves from government. Period. I urge everybody to arm themselves to the teeth.

Wrong. Go back and read the history of RKBA constitutional provisions in the "Colonies/states" bills of rights. The clearest expression goes "...that the people have the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of themselves and their own state, and the taking of game". The Founding Fathers who promulgated the FEDERAL Constitution's 2nd Amendment intended to protect all of these. Remeber, the Constitution uses "allowing language" (i.e. if it is mentioned, then it is limited---if it is NOT mentioned, then it is assumed as a "right of the people", and retained by them).
