"How about those wanting to save all the animals in NO go to their Local Animal Shelter and adopt one of the pets they have available TODAY!

A wonderful way to pay homage to those pets that will have been unfortunately lost to Hurricane Katrina in some form or another.

BET YOU DON'T DO IT!"

I am all maxed out at my home right now with lots of adopted animals. Good idea though. Perhaps all of us animal lovers could try to do something. Like take vans, trucks down there and bring back animals to our local pet stores and they could each all over the country find a couple homes for some little critters found in NO. They could even make some money selling them to the kindhearted and sympathetic American public. Really good idea I think because many of the big pet food chains and the small private one do take lots of cats and dogs in and selling them find homes for them from out of area Humane Societies and private people helping critters.

PetsMarts stores have been doing that for years.

Every weekend the sidewalks are filled with adoptable dogs from local no-kill shelters.

The whole back room is full of cats and kittens from the same.

Their success rate is admirable.
