My assumption here is that most blacks' bachelors and graduate degrees are on the soft scienes, such as African Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Women's Studies and other assorted liberal arts curricula. You can't make a good living with a degree such as Philosophy.
I wouldn't make a claim like that unless I had statistics to back it up. The blacks I met in college were, for the most part, trying to do whatever they wanted to major in, and were not gravitating towards those fields you mentioned.
And , of course, one need only read the work of someone like Thomas Sowell to realize blacks can be well represented in any field.
However, the stuff like African Studies and such are, as you imply, a complete and total scam. Disgraceful to call those areas "disciplines".
